Diabetes Awareness |
|
|
Diabetes is becoming more and more common very fast. All the more reason to find a cure. Do your part to help raise diabetes awareness. As I hope you all know, Nick jonas has diabetes, and my aunt has it. So right there I have 2 very important people in my life that suffer from it. So if you dont have someone in your family or a friend that has it, do it for Nick. If you need ideas on what to do, Oh My Jonas has some good ones and I can help too. |

Umm......Jonas Brothers tv is definately a good one. How to work a soda machine and Jonas brothers tv are pretty funny. Any of the music videos are good. Umm....I will let you know bout any more.

Ok, this is a song I wrote for a contest. Its for Nick and his battle with diabetes. I know its not very good, but I want to hear comments anyways. Please dont write anything rude. SUPPORT NICK J!!!!
Stand Strong
(part 1) He sat in the doctor's office waitin, he was just thirteen. He'd been drinking lots of water, and acting real mean. The doctor came back into the room, and gave his diagnosis. He said "your blood sugar level is high and you'll need insulin in small injected doses." (chorus) Nick we're here for you, its okay to cry. Just know we're here, to stand by you. Hold on tight. Its a crazy ride. But know your not alone. Our love for you will never be gone. Stand Strong. (part 2) Afraid of what will happen, he asks "Am I gonna die?" And the doctor said "No son you'll be just fine." And so he begins to learn how to manage it and what its about. He never cried. He never complained. Now he's up on that stage, living his dream. Hey Guys! This is my fanfic. Its the first one Ive written so I know its not that good but comment it in my guestbook please. Chapters 1-5 are actually a dream i had. Im gonna write a different one later.
Chapter 1
I live in the housing complex in Massachusetts and I love the Jonas Brothers. One Saturday I was hanging around at home totally bored. All my friends were skiing for the weekend. The lady that managed the complex called me and said “Your neighbors across the street need to see you. Just go knock on their door; they are expecting you.” The blue house across the street had always seemed deserted to me. I never saw anyone there, so I brought this up. “Are you sure you mean the blue one across from me? I don’t think anyone even lives there,” I said. “Yep, that’s the one. People live there, they just travel a lot. Just head on over, you’ll understand why.” So, after I hung up with her, I decided to go see what was up. I quickly got dressed and crossed the street and knocked. After a minute of waiting, the door opened and who was there? MAMA J! I couldn’t believe it! “You must be Lexi,” she said, “Come on in. Nicholas is waiting in his room for you, third door on the right.” In awe I said, “You want me to go into your son’s room, and you trust us by ourselves?” “Oh sure! Nick is very trustworthy. Go on.” So I walked down the hall to the door she said was his and knocked. I heard someone say “Come in!” and I stepped inside. There, lying on his bed, was Nick Jonas! “Hey Lexi!” he said, “Come have a seat.” He slapped a spot on his bed next to him. Slowly, still not believing what was happening, I walked over. “I’m just answering some fan mail, want to help?” Nick said. After a little while I was feeling more comfortable and Nick decided we had answered enough e-mails. He declared a tickle fight. I won. Laying on the bed, sides hurting from laughing so hard, his room door burst open. It was Kevin and Joe! “Hey Nick that’s not fair! You got to have the fan sleep over last time too!” complained Joe. Sleep over? Nick casually said “Oh, Lexi, I almost forgot. Do you want to sleep over tonight?” Do I? “OMJ YES!” was all I could say. I ran home to ask my mom and packed and went back to Nick, Kevin, and Joe. Joe was still mad about Nick getting two turns so he said “Fine, you can have her sleep over tonight but tomorrow, she’s sleeping over for me and Kevin.” I couldn’t believe it, the Jonas Brothers were actually fighting over me!
Chapter 2
After things settled down, we decided to play spin the bottle. It landed on Nick and Joe dared him to go in the closet with me for 7 minutes. When we got in there, Nick said. “You know Lexi, I really like you.” I was like “Really?” “Yeah. You are a lot of fun to be around and your really pretty. Will you go out with me?” He looked so nervous when he said that but like I was gonna say no! “Are you serious? Of course I will.” For the next 5 minutes we just sat there and talked. We came out holding hands and Kevin looked thrilled. I asked him why and he said, “Nick has been crushing on you for a really long time. He saw you once, sitting out on your porch across the street and has crushed on you ever since.” OMJ! Since spin the bottle was getting boring, we decided to go to bed. I said goodnight to Kevin and Joe and Nick followed them to their room. When he came back, he climbed into bed and told me to sleep on the other side. It was a king-sized bed. We talked for a while but when Mama J came in to tell us lights out, Nick said, “Okay, stay on that side of the bed and, well don’t try to do anything, know what I mean?” Completed embarrassed and upset he would think that I said, “Never! I know and respect your pledge of purity. I have taken that same pledge so don’t worry.” Then we went to sleep.
Chapter 3
The next morning Papa J wasn’t at breakfast. “He’s on a business trip but will be back tomorrow morning,” Mama J told me. I was supposed to sleep over that night again so I went home to check it with my mom and get new clothes. When I got back all three of the boys were on Nick’s bed talking. When I walked in, Kevin came over to me, took my hand and led me to his room. He shut the door and told me to come sit with him. “Do you really like Nick?” he asked me. “Of course I do, why do you ask?” He said, “Well because we have been talking to Nick and he said he really likes you and I just wanted to make sure you weren’t playing with his head.” “Trust me, I would never do that.” We went back to Joe and Nick and watched movies and ate popcorn. I was having a really good time. Then it got late and Joe said that it was time for us to go to their room. “Go on, I’ll be there in a minute,” said Kevin. When I was in their room with Joe, after Nick and I said goodnight, I was really upset. Joe asked, “Lexi what’s wrong?” “I’m scared Nick will find a better looking famous actress and wont like me anymore,” I confessed. Me and Joe had a long talk and Joe told me, “Nick cares about you a lot. He says you’re the only one he wants to be with.” I said, “ I care about him a lot too. I just want to be with him forever. I love him.” By then I was crying and Joe was very comforting. But when Kevin got back, they delivered some bad news. “The day after tomorrow we leave for a long tour. We wont be back for a while.” So I wasn’t going to see my boyfriend and my best friends for a long time and this upset me even more. Then I remembered my mom’s plans to go to the mall the next day so I called her and asked if they could come with us. She approved so I asked Kevin and Joe if they wanted to come. “Definitely!” they said. But I had to ask Nick and I couldn’t wait until morning. Quietly I crept into his room. He was sound asleep and looked perfect. He had no shirt on and I could see every muscle in his stomach. Wanting so much to be a part of that picture-perfect moment, I crawled in next to him and layed my head on his chest. A few minutes later his woke up. “Lexi? Is something wrong?” he asked. “No everything’s fine. You just looked so peaceful and I wanted to be with you. Nothing happened don’t worry.” I invited him to the mall and he said yes. I decided to lay with him for just a little while longer, then Kevin came into the room. “Come on love bird. Time to sleep,” he said jokingly. I went to the boy’s room and talked about our plans for the next day, eventually going to sleep. I was worried about meeting Papa J the next morning. What if he didn’t approve of me and Nick dating? I knew Papa J was strict and a minister and was worried he wouldn’t like me. The next morning, when I woke up, I saw Nick sitting over me, just watching me. “Is something wrong? Did something happen?” I asked. Then after seeing we were the only ones in the room and Kevin and Joe were already up I asked, “Why didn’t they wake me?” Nick replied, “I wanted to be the first thing you saw when you woke up so I told them to leave you alone.” Awww! When I told him about my worries of meeting Papa J, he told me, “Dad isn’t that mean. Besides, after he sees how much I care about you he’ll understand. Just be yourself.”
Chapter 4
I followed him into the kitchen and saw everyone seated at the table. Mama J had made pancakes and a seat was reserved for me right next to Papa J. After having breakfast and surviving Papa J’s fire questions, Mama J started cleaning up and I went into the kitchen to help her. Nick must have told her what I said because she said, “Don’t worry about their father. I think you are a wonderful young lady and I give you my approval.” Those words meant the world to me. I heard Papa J call Mama J and she sent Nick in to help me. We were washing the dishes when we were called into the dining room. Nick grabbed my hand and walked into the dining room. When Papa J saw us holding hands, he said, “Nicholas, you like this girl I understand?” Nick said, “Yes dad, very much. And I will prove to you how much.” Then he turned toward me, pulled me closer to him, and gently leaned forward and pressed his lips onto mine. It was like a dream. Papa J said, “Well you must like her a lot. You have always been embarrassed to show your affection towards someone in front of me.” Then Papa J said he wanted to speak to me alone and Nick and Mama J went back into the kitchen. He asked me a few more questions before calling Nick back in. “I think this girl is a very fine young lady and I give you my approval.” Mama J looked very pleased and Nick scooped me up into a huge hug. Then it was time for us to go to the mall. My mom was waiting in the car and the four of us squished into the back seat of her truck. When we got to the mall, Mom gave me $50 and we went our separate ways. We went to one of those small photo booths and all tried to squish in there. We took 2 of everything, so that I could have a strip of each and they could have a strip of each. When we walked past a jewelry store, Nick said, “Hey can we stop in here? I want to pick up something for my mom.” So when we went into the store, all the employees were standing in front of the counters smiling at us. Before I could ask what was going on, one of them stepped forward and handed Nick a box. Then he turned to me and opened the box. Inside was a purity ring, exactly like his but engraved on the inside it said ‘Lexi, I love you. Love Nick.’ He slipped it on my finger and said “Now I can really say you are my girlfriend.” I was overjoyed. We went to grab lunch and then just walked around shopping. I bought Joe a really cute headband, Kevin an cute rocker bandana, and I bought Nick cologne he told me he had been dying for and a cute tee. When my mom called to tell me it was getting late and we needed to go home, we slowly began to walk back to the entrance. We all new what was happening the next day and I was dreading it. When we got back, I walked them to their door. We said our goodbyes and I told them that it didn’t matter how early they were leaving, but to call me so I could go say my last goodbye. At 3:30 in the morning I got a text on my phone. It said ‘Come outside, we are leaving.’ I ran outside and saw them packing their tour bus. Nick was on his porch waiting for me with roses. I ran to him and gave him a big hug. He gave me the roses and a small box. It was a gold locket and inside it was one of the pictures of the two of us from the photo booths. It was engraved on the other side with our names, the date the picture was taken, and where it was taken. We held hands and tried to stall time. Papa J called for Nick to leave and I walked him to the bus. Before we got to the door, he turned to me and kissed me. It was absolutely incredible! I wanted to stop time but I knew he had to go and wouldn’t interfere with his dream. We said goodbye and promised to call everyday and then they were gone.
Chapter 5
A month later I was at lunch at school sitting with my friends Hannah and Kellsie. We heard an announcement about an assembly in the gym for all grades (9th-12th). Confused because no one said anything about an assembly, we went to the gym. When we got their, it was filled with all the students of the school and we had to fight our way through the crowds to get seats. The principle was standing in front of the crowd and when everyone had found a seat, he said, “Would Lexi, of 11th grade please come up here.” That was me! Kellsie was flipping out; “OMJ Lexi what did you do?” I thought I was in trouble for something but couldn’t think of what. When I got up there he didn’t say anything so I had to just stand there. Then I heard the doors open behind me and when I turned around I saw Joe and Kevin walking towards me! I ran and gave them huge hugs. Then before I had time to ask, Nick slowly walked through the doors. I could hear every girl in the crowd squealing. I ran into his open arms and just hung on to him. “Surprise!” he said, “Did you miss me?” Still not believing this was happening, I grabbed his hand and we walked back to the principle. He announced who they were and said they would be performing for us. Nick took the mike and said “I met Lexi about a month ago. We have been dating for about that long and I want to dedicate these next three songs to her.” He grabbed a stool for me and they began to play ‘Hello Beautiful’ and then ‘Please Be Mine’. I was so happy. Then, he asked me if I would dance with him to the next song. Naturally I said yes and they began to play ‘When You Look Me In The Eyes.’ I was crying so hard and I could hear all the girls sighing. When that was over, I ran and grabbed Hannah and Kellsie and brought them up to meet the Jonas Brothers. Then they played more songs and when it was over and everyone had left, I went to Nick and asked “How long have you been planning this?” “Since the day I left,” he said, “I have missed you so much.” “I missed you too. My prom is coming up here at my school, would you like to go with me? I’m sure my friends would love to go with your brothers.” Kellsie and Hannah hadn’t left Kevin and Joe’s side since they met them. They all agreed.
Chapter 6
Hannah, Kellsie, and I went shopping for the perfect dresses. Kellsie got this beautiful pale green one that looked stunning on her, Hannah chose a soft light blue dress, and I got a royal blue with soft pink trimming floor-length dress. The two of them came to my house to finish preparing for the dance. At 6 o’clock I heard the doorbell and my mom got it. After putting finishing touches on our hair, the three of us walked down the stairs. We knew we looked good by the look on the boys’ faces. They were in shock. Joe wore a black tux with a pink undershirt, Kevin had a black tux also with a green undershirt and Nick was dressed in a deep blue tux with a royal blue undershirt that matched my dress almost perfectly. After many pictures by my parents, we left. The boys had brought a limo with Big Rob driving. When we arrived at the prom, we were the center of attention. We danced all night and I had the time of my life. I didn’t want it to end but when it did, we all went out to dinner with them. When they dropped us off at my house (Hannah and Kellsie were spending the night) Nick followed me in. “I want to see my princess’s sleeping chamber,” he said. I laughed but I didn’t want him to see my room. It would be awkward because I had posters of them plastering my walls. But he insisted and when he saw it he said “Wow, you are a huge fan.” “Yeah, I have been for a long time. And I have loved you guys for a long time.” After he left, me and my friends stayed up and talked the entire night. We knew in a few days the boys would have to leave again so we were gonna make the best of the time we had with our boyfriends. The next day we drove around in Kevin’s car. We stopped at starbucks, had lunch, and went to the movies. It was absolutely amazing. The day they left was really emotional. Me, Hannah, and Kellsie were all upset so they stayed at my house again and we talked. Really early in the morning I got a call from Joe. He sounded really upset and when I asked what was wrong he said, “Nick is in the hospital in your town. He’s in ICU. Can you come down here?” Right then I fell apart. Kellsie took the phone from me, got the details, and she drove the three of us to the local hospital. When I got in to see him, I was so scared. He was hooked to so many machines and I burst into tears. Kevin grabbed me and carried me to the waiting room and sat on the couch with me and cradled me. He said that Big Rob was driving them in their tour bus and Nick said he needed sugar fast and they couldn’t find any candy. By the time they found chocolate Nick had passed out. I told him how scared I was and he told me he was scared too. Then Joe and Hannah and Kellsie came into the waiting room and we all sat around, talking, scared of what might happen.
Chapter 7
I called my mom and told her what was going on and that I intended on staying overnight at the hospital. Everyone else said they would stay too. I stayed with Nick in his room, holding his hand, until the nurse kicked me out for the night. He looked so sick and I feared the worst. It was a long night. When we talked to the doctor the next day, he said that he was very optimistic about Nick’s recovery. I was so relieved. “If you hadn’t gotten here when you did, I’d not sure he would have made it,” said the doctor. He said Nick had regained consciousness and that we could go see him. We all went in together. After a little while, Joe and Kevin said they were going to take Kellsie and Hannah down to the cafeteria to get breakfast so me and Nick could be alone. Once they left, I said, “Oh Nick I was so scared!” “Well I’m going to be fine so don’t worry. Wow you look gorgeous,” he said. “No I don’t. I’m in my pajamas and my hair is a mess.” “Well you look amazing to me.” After talking for a little while, I said I was going to meet the other four in the cafeteria and that I would be back in a little bit so Mama and Papa J could have some time with Nick. When I got down there, Joe and Kevin were trying to fight off about a dozen reporters trying to get a story about Nick. When I got over there, they all came after me saying, “You’re Nick’s girlfriend right? What’s happening? His fans have a right to know.” I calmly told them, “It is private business. When he is ready to tell you himself, you will know. But for now, get out of the hospital before I call security.” Once they had all cleared out, Joe, Kevin, Hannah, Kellsie, and I finally had the chance to sit down. “How are you Lexi?” asked Joe and Kevin, concerned. “I’m better now that the doctor said he will be fine. I was just so afraid that…that he wouldn’t make it.” “Well, we don’t have to worry about that,” said Kevin. When we got upstairs, Nick was upright in his bed and we were allowed to visit with him for a while. The doctor came in and explained that Nick had an insulin reaction. He had too little food in his body and too much insulin. He also said Nick would be able to leave that afternoon. Once he was released, Kevin drove all of us home in his car. Joe was going to Hannah’s for the afternoon, Kevin to Kellsie’s and Nick was coming to mine.
Chapter 8
When we got to my house, decided to go ice skating at the rink right down the street from my house. After watching Nick fall quite a few times, we bought hot chocolate and snuggled on the bench. Then Nick seemed to get the hang of it and we just skated around holding hands. Many young girls came over and asked him for autographs. There was a DJ at the rink and he then put on a slow song. Nick asked me to dance with him, even though we had skates on. So we went out onto the middle of the ice and danced. At the end of the song, he looked deep into my eyes and said “Lexi, I’ve never told a girl this but, I love you.” “I love you too Nick.” was all I could say. He was the sweetest guy in the world and he had just told me he loved me. Then he leaned down and kissed me. He took my hand and we decided to walk back to my house. There, we watched movies and ate popcorn and cuddled on the couch. I saw he was staring at me and said “What? Do I have popcorn in my teeth?” And he said, “No, you are perfect. I was just wondering how I got a girl as beautiful as you to be my girlfriend.” Then he kissed me again. We kissed for a long time and when we finally pulled away he said “I love you and I plan to spend the rest of my life with you.” Never had a guy said something like that to me and I would never forget this moment.
Chapter 9
What seemed like 10 minutes later, Kevin arrived with Joe, saying that their parents had called and they had to go home. I was disappointed but Nick promised to come the next morning before they had to leave again. After saying goodnight I went to bed. At 10 the next morning they showed up to say goodbye and gave me free front row tickets and backstage passes along with meet and greet passes for their next concert which was an hour from my house. They gave me enough for me, Hannah, and Kellsie. So I called Hannah and Kellsie and told them to keep Saturday free. We were so excited. It was Kellsie and Hannah’s first concert ever and my second one for the Jonas Brothers. We hit the mall to get the perfect outfits. Nick said that the three of us would be sitting at the meet and greet table with them because they wanted to show us off. After we had settled on amazing outfits, we grabbed lunch and decided to buy hair and makeup stuff. We also had to pick up gifts for the boys. We needed one for the meet and greet and one for Valentine’s Day which was the same day as the concert. For the meet and greet, I got Nick a scarf, Kellsie got Kevin another bandana, and Hannah got Joe another headband that said Amazing on it. We were satisfied and then had to be on the look out for Valentine’s Day gifts. For Kevin, Kellsie got him a stuffed frog that held a heart saying ‘My heart jumps for you’, Hannah got Joe a monkey that said ‘going bananas for you’ and I got Nick a bear that held a heart that said ‘Love You Babe’ and a cross necklace with the engraving ‘To my hero. Luv you always. Luv Lexi’ on the back. We were all happy with what we chose. Now we had to wait 2 more days for the concert.
Chapter 10
It was finally Saturday, the day of the concert. Kellsie and Hannah came to my house to get ready and I was going to drive to the concert. We wrapped the presents and we were so excited. We left the house early so we could meet up with the boys before the meet and greet, which was before the show. We gave them their gifts and when they opened their meet and greet gifts, they all put them on and said they would wear them all throughout the show. I held on to the Valentine’s Day gift until after the concert. When the meet and greet started, there were so many fans. Kellsie and Hannah seemed to be enjoying themselves too. We even got asked to sign something! One fan stood out and touched my heart. She was a little girl, no older than seven. She wore a bandana to cover her bald head. She had cancer and she made it to the concert through the Make A Wish Foundation. She asked me who I was and when I told her I was Nick’s girlfriend, she said, “Wow, you are really lucky. No one wants to date a bald girl” “That‘s not true. Its not about the beauty on the outside, but the beauty on the inside.” I said. When the meet and greet was over, Nick pulled me aside and asked if I was allowed to spend the night out. I called my mom and she okayed it. After all, it was Saturday. When the concert started, we were in front row, center stage, and Nick, Kevin, and Joe pulled the three of us onstage to sing Hello Beautiful and When You Look Me In The Eyes to us. After the show, we met up with the boys backstage. Before we got to them, I saw them talking to the little girl I had met earlier. I heard Nick tell her he thought she was gorgeous and the little girls face lit up. When she had to leave, he gave her a rose, and said “Will you be my valentine?” “Really? I sure will!” And then he kissed her on the cheek. After she had left, I went up to Nick. “Nick, that was the sweetest thing I have ever seen. You made that little girls day. And when you kissed her, I thought she was going to pass out! Any room for another valentine? ” I said teasingly. “Yeah, I know how that girl feels; To be sick and have everyone think your some kind of freak. And you will always be my valentine.” he replied. Then he took my hand and said, “Do you want to see your valentines day present?” “Sure, but you have to wait for yours.” He walked me out into the parking lot and I saw a helicopter there. “Where are you taking me?” I asked. “You’ll see.” So we climbed in an took off. It was dark when we landed. “We have to walk a little bit to get there. Didn’t want to spoil the surprise when we landed.” he said. We walked for about 5 minutes until we got to a beach. On the beach, there was a tent set up with a candlelight dinner prepared. “We are going to eat dinner together, just the two of us. Then, we are going to sit at the water’s edge and watch the sunrise.” he said, taking my hand and leading me into the tent.
