Chapter 1!
Say What?
I stood at the counter reading through a magazine.I hated working at starbucks.It was fun in the morning but then around 2:00 no one wanted to stop in.
Ding
I looked up because the ding had come from the bell above the door.I saw one guy walking in.He look familair but i wasn't sure.As he stood in front of the counter i finally figured it out.JOE JONAS!I couldn't believe i hadn't figured that out before.
"Hey welcome to Claire i'm starbucks."I said
He just got this smile on his face.I didn't get what he was smiling at but then i finally realized it.
"Oh oops i mean welcome to Starbucks i'm Claire."I said with a small laugh.
"Hey."Joe said then he had to go and flash his gorgeous smile which distracted me even more.
I'm not the type of girl who can be just blown away by a guy but something was different about this guy.
It wasn't the fact that i couldn't get to sleep without listening to the beautiful words of Hello Beautiful or the fact that You Just Don't Know It is my most favorite song in the world.It was something else.Something way else.I had no idea though what it was.It wasn't the fact that he was a rockstar or Joe Jonas or that his music was my life.It was something that i just couldn't figure out.
"Hello?"Joe asked while waving a hand in front of my face.
"Oh oops sorry."I said
"Wow what has got your mind so occupied?"Joe asked
"I don't know."I blurted out.
"Well that makes sense."Joe said
"Well i know i just don't get it."I said
"What about it don't you get?"Joe asked
"Just something."I said with a smile
"Well would you tell me over a cup of coffee?"Joe asked
"Maybe."I said
I looked around and the place was completley empty.I took off the apron i had to wear and my hat.Then i smoothed out my long brown hair.I grabbed two cups and pured the coffee into them.Then i walked over to where Joe was sitting.
"So what has your mind so occupied?"Joe asked
"Wow you don't skip a beat."I said as i sipped my coffee.
Then Joe flashed me that smile.
"Well i kinda like this guy.Well i think i like him i don't really know."I said
"How can you not know?"Joe asked
"Well like i think i like him but i'm not positive because i haven't known him that long.So i am just trying to get to know him a little better."I said
"I see."Joe said
"Ya.And i just told you that and i hardley know you and you haven't helped me any."I said
"Well i am not here to give advice."Joe said
"Then why on earth did you ask me to have coffee with you?"I asked
"Becuase you seemed to be like an interesting person.And i wanted to get to know you.And your really pretty."Joe said
"Are you flirting with me Mr.Joe Jonas?"I asked
"Is it so wrong if i am?"Joe asked
"Maybe.Maybe not."I said
"Well then maybe i am and maybe i'm not."Joe said
"I see.So i told you problem kinda do you have any you should share?"I asked
"Well ok here it is.I like this girl well she is really pretty but kinda confusing.Like she would even confuse Nick.That's how confusing she is.And i am trying to decide if i should ask her out or kepp my distance.And i think i need to keep my distance."Joe said
"So since she is confusing your going to keep your distance."I said
"Well ya but i am not keeping my distance just because she is confusing."Joe said
"Well what's the other reason?"I asked
"Claire."
I turned around and there at the counter stood my manager Kati.I hadn't realized but while Joe and i were talking a line had formed at the counter.
"Yes?"I asked
"These customers aren't going to get coffee themselves."Kati said
"Right i'll be right there."I said
"Well looks like i better get going."Joe said
"Wait your not going to tell me the other reason?"I asked
"Looks like that's one thing you will never know."Joe said with a smile
Then he stood up from the table.
"See you around Starbucks."Joe said
He set money down on the table and walked out of the door.
