Chapter 3
Elayna and Melanie’s eyes lit up when they saw who stood before them. The Jonas Brothers. Suddenly Elayna began to feel dizzy and couldn’t seem to form any words.
“Mel…Jonas Brothers…don’t feel so….” And everything became black.
Elayna felt as if she had been hit by a train. She could hear voices around her but all she could concentrate was the pain in her hand. Her hand? She hadn’t hurt her hand. Slowly her eyes fluttered open and she turned her head.
“My hand…” Elayna squeaked.
“E? What did you say?” Melanie asked with her voice full of worry.
“She said her hand…” said Kevin.
Everyone immediately looked at her hand, only to see it covered by a foot.
Joe quickly jumped back as his face became intensely red.
“Oh…uh…I am so sorry.” Melanie just smiled at him and he blushed even more.
“Elayna,” said Melanie, “are you ok? Do you need something?”
Does she need something? Currently she is surrounded by the Jonas Brothers with Kevin Jonas not even a foot from her face…nope…she was good!
Elayna slowly sat up as Kevin grabbed her hand and gently placed his other hand on her back. A slight shiver shot up her spine.
“I am so sorry.” Kevin said staring deep into her eyes. “My brothers can’t seem to do anything without someone getting injured…but usually it’s Joe.” He gave a small smile as Joe chuckled.
“It’s ok, I’m fine really. Just a little lightheaded.”
“I am so sorry that I hit you,” Nick said quietly while looking at his feet. “but Kevin, we have to get backstage, it’s almost time for sound check.”
Kevin helped up Elayna. Once she was up they both stood there for a moment, neither noticing they were still holding hands. Joe quickly nudged Kevin. Elayna and Kevin looked down and swiftly released as redness creeped up both their necks.
“So…” said Joe with a slight giggle, “you ladies staying for the festivities tonight?” This question seemed to be directed toward Melanie and everyone noticed.
“Yeah we have tickets and meet & greet p*CENSORED*,” said Melanie.
“Well I have an idea,” chirped Kevin. “How about you both come backstage with us and Elayna can get some rest during the meet & greet and you guys can hang out with us for awhile.” Kevin said excitedly.
The girls just looked at each other for a moment, neither one being able to produce words. Finally Melanie mustered up enough energy to throw a yes in Joe’s direction.
After the boys led Elayna & Melanie backstage and made sure they had everything they needed, they headed off to their meet & greet. For a little while they just sat in silence. Melanie interrupted the quiet with an inaudible giggle. Elayna quickly looked at her for a moment before busting out in a giggle as well.
“I can not believe what we are doing right now. We are sitting backstage. With the Jonas Brothers. We are going to be hanging out with the Jonas Brothers. You getting hit in the head, best thing that’s ever happened in my life!” shrieked Melanie. Elayna felt her head and chuckled.
“Well I’m glad my getting injured turned out well for everyone.”
“I’m not sure if you remember this seeing as you were concussed and all, but Kevin Jonas was practically drooling over you. For real. It was absolutely adorable!” Melanie noticed how quickly Elayna turned red.
“Shut up Mel. You’re delusional & embarrassing me.” Elayna pondered what Mel said for a moment. Could Kevin really be into me?
After a while the boys finally returned.
“You girls play guitar hero?” Joe asked.
“I try but it’s really unsuccessful, but Elayna on the other hand is outstanding.” Melanie said switching her glances between Elayna and Kevin.
“You think she could beat Kevin. Because if she could she would be my new best friend,” Joe said excitedly.
“Well why don’t we see,” Elayna said playfully in Kevin’s direction . Where did that sudden burst of confidence come from, she wondered.
Kevin looked intrigued and there was a smile playing at the corner of his lips.
“Well then let’s play.” said Kevin.
One hour later and many painful rounds, Kevin put the guitar down and hung his head in defeat.
“OMG OMG!!” Joe said jumping about the room frantically. “OMG KEVIN! She beat you!! Not once! Not twice! But SIX TIMES!!! Holy cow!! OMG!!” Joe quickly ran over and engulfed Elayna in a hug. “You have no idea how much you just made my life. You seriously poned him. It was AMAZING!” Joe screamed!
Elayna just laughed as Joe picked her up.
“Joe! Put the poor girl down, you’re acting like a fool!” Kevin said.
“Oh you’re just bitter,” said Nick. “No one has ever beaten him. Way to go!” Nick smiled in her direction.
Joe finally calmed down and collapsed on the couch next to Melanie. They were sitting close together and Melanie was laughing at everything Joe said. Nick was sitting in the corner quietly working on some guitar riffs. Kevin caught himself staring at Elayna so he walked over to her.
“You want to go for a little walk? I want to get out before lockdown.”
Elayna beamed him a smile that made his knee’s go weak. “Absolutely,” she said.
