Chapter One. Joe's POV
I walked into the building with my brothers. It was huge. There was a huge fancy fountain in the middle and a big reception desk by the entrance of the hall. Everything was so fancy and shiny. You could get lost finding the bathroom. That's how large it was. Still observing where we would be spending our summer, we slowly walked to the receptionist's desk. "Hello ma'am" Kevin said polietly. She peered at us through her gl*CENSORED*. "Yes?" she asked with a sweet voice. She looked in her mid twenties. "We're here for the dance camp?" he asked. She nodded. "Oh yes. Names please?" she asked. He cleared his throat. "Kevin, Nicholas and Jospeh Jonas" he said. She began typing and nodded. "Go straight down the hall. You'll meet your instructors there"
We nodded as we slowly walked down the long hallway. We arrived at two big brown rich wood doors marked "DDR" and I opened the doors. We were faced with a large room. We saw people between the ages of fifteen to twenty there. Girls and boys. There looked about fifty of them and three instructors. One girl, and two boys. All eyes were on us. "Uhh.." Nick began. The lady came foward. "Yes yes. Come in" she said quickly. We walked in and took our seats as the doors closed. "Now. Sarah can't join us right now, but she will be here". We found out that the lady there was named Kayla, and the other men were named Jacob and Max. "Okay!" Jake said. "You're probably wondering why am I here? I already know how to dance'. But the real reason is because you're dancing isn't good enough!" he said. My eyes widened. Who does this guy think he is?
Max nodded. 'You'll be staying here for two months learning how to break dance and dance like you've never done before". Kayla nodded. "We don't expect you to know all the moves you're going to learn, but we do expect you to give it your all". She said. "Other than dancing, we have singing cl*CENSORED*, a drum studio, a piano studio, and a dance area where you can practise in private". I could tell that she was mixed. She looked Italian, Filipino, Spanish, and Puerto Rican. "But we have onlyfour main rules we expect you to follow while you're here" Jake added. "One. Don't show off. We get it. Some people learn faster than others. Just don't make other people feel bad" he said. Max took a long drink from his water bottle then placed the cap back on. "Two. There are only four of us, and fifty of you. That can all change. Your parents spent $600 on each of you. We can just send you home if we want to" he said. "No refunds"
Kayla sighed and looked at Max. "Three. Practise. We demonstrate the moves and teach them to you. We'll be going at a slow pace, but we'll only be spending one week tops on a section. If you're having extreme trouble, I'll stay back and help you out while the rest go on ahead with Max and Jake. Like Max said, we don't expect all of you to be experts in this type of dancing". Jake sighed. "Final rule. Have fun. We know you guys would rather be spending your summer some palce else, but when you guys are finished, trust us, you'l want to come next year as well" he said. Kayla sighed. "During the last week of this camp, there's going to be a dance competition. We're going to let you pick your own groups of six and you'll be showing us what you've learned. There will be some groups of five". Jake nodded. "The prize? One group will win $100,000 and a scholarship" he explained. "Even if you don't win, we just want you guys to know we're happy with each and every one you" she said.
Through the whole talk, I kept my eyes on her. She looked eighteen. But she could be nineteen.
