Part LVII
Nick’s POV
I continued leaning into Samantha, ready to kiss her at any moment.
Then she stopped.
“Nick” she said, centimeters from my face.
“Yes” I breathed.
“This, is, it’s just too fast. I’m sorry” she said, backing up.
“I am too” I said quietly.
“Hey” she said, putting her hand on my cheek. “I’m just not ready right now. I like you Nick. I really do”
I smiled a little “I, like you too”
Samantha smiled really big. “I figured” she laughed.
I forced a laugh. “Yeah, I kinda figured you liked me too”
“Are we okay?” she asked, after an awkward silence.
I nodded. “Yeah, I think so.”
She smiled again. “Good, because, I think we just burned the popcorn” she said, pulling out a practically black bag of microwave popcorn out of the microwave.
I laughed. “Don’t think we’ll be able to taste that movie theater butter now!”
“I don’t think so either.” Sam laughed.
We put in another bag of popcorn, this time watching it carefully.
I still wished she had kissed me.
I didn’t think it was too fast. And we were so close to kissing too.
I wasn’t going to let it spoil my evening though.
Maybe we’d kiss later….
“So, what are we watching?” Samantha asked when we got back up to her room, unburned popcorn in hands.
“Star Wars!” her sisters said together.
Sam rolled her eyes.
“Cool! I love Star Wars!” I said.
“Me too!” Jordan and Emily said together.
I laughed “Do you two do that often?”
“Yes” they said together again.
“Twins, ya know?” Sam laughed.
I glanced over at Samantha during the movie. She looked bored out of her mind.
“You okay?” I whispered.
“I’ve seen this all before. So many times. My sisters are addicted to these movies” she whispered back.
“Oh, I see.” I said.
“Do you want to ditch this movie? They won’t notice if we’ve left, and if they do, they won’t care” Sam asked.
I smiled “Sure”
We walked out of her room, her sisters not even noticing (or they did and didn’t care) and into her backyard.
“It’s a beautiful night” she said. “Cloudy, but pretty”
“Yeah, it is.” I agreed. “But I can think of someone prettier”
Sam looked at me. “Who?” she asked, clueless.
I laughed. “You” I told her.
She blushed. “Oh.” She said, embarrassed. “Thanks” she smiled.
“I don’t lie” I told her. I was such a flirt.
“Come over here, you can see the ocean if you stand on the ledge” Samantha guided me over to a little wall in the back of her backyard, acting as the fence. Okay, so it wasn’t really, really little, but it wasn’t huge. You could fall off and hurt yourself.
“Ladies first” I said, being a gentleman.
She giggled, and started to stand up on the ledge.
I looked around the yard, just glancing around, when she screamed.
“Whoa!” I said, catching her, right as she fell off of the wall.
We landed, her in my arms, on the ground.
“Nick, oh my gosh, you saved me” she told me.
“How could I not?” I said, not really asking a question.
“You’re amazing” she said.
“So are you” I said, leaning into her.
“You’re more amazing” she said, leaning into me.
Instead of saying that she was more amazing, I kept leaning into her, farther, and farther, until, finally, I kissed her.
GASP!! lol. jk
And That was just part one....well, sort of. Part one of Nick and Sam's time together....But w/e U get the point =]
