Chapter1
Me, Alicia, Haley were singing along to SOS in Alicia's mom's car on the way to the golf course for a day of fresh air, green grass, flying golf balls, and free lunch for children under 15 (we're 15). "Oooh, this is an SOS don't wanna second guess, this is the bottom line its truuuueee!" we sang.
Alicia's mom cringed in the front seat and snapped,"Keep it down!"
Alicia turned the music up louder and yelled, "I can't hear you, I have melted brain in my ears!”
We cracked up, and I yelled ,”Eat marshmallow frobro!”
“Chew on this, sucker!” Haley screamed.
“Put this in your cocoa!” Alicia shrieked. Tears ran down out faces as we laughed hysterically.
“Get a life,” Alicia’s mom muttered.
When we got there, we jumped out happily and ran thru the parking lot. We didn’t even notice the giant black bus parked in the lot.
The first hole was par 3. I got 10. Haley got a hole-in-one, and Alicia got a bogey. Scores: me, +7. Haley, -2. Alicia, +1. I think you can guess how PO’ed I was. At the second hole, I got another +7. Haley got ANOTHER hole-in-one (“OMG when did I get this good?” she kept saying) and Alicia got a birdie.
At the third hole, I brought my score up to 25. I was fuming. I’d never done so badly in my life! I tried my best not to explode, but believe me, if anybody ticked me off, H-E-double hockeysticks would be unleashed. I was determined to get a hole-in-one for the fourth hole.
I will get a hole-in-one, I will get a hole-in-one, I chanted in my head. I concentrated, aimed, swung, and—
BONK!!!
A golf ball smacked me in the head and bounced off. “Oww!!!” I cried. “Who hit me?” A guy with curly hair stood behind me, his hand covering his mouth.
“Are you OK?’ he asked, rushing over. Tears swam in my eyes.
“No, I’m not frickin OK! I got hit in the head with a frickin golf ball!”
He kept apologizing. “I’m sorry, Joe distracted me!”
“Well, maybe this Joe shouldn’t distract people while they’re frickin golfing!!!!” I barked. “Because if you distract someone while they’re golfing, it usually causes them to lose control of the trajectory of the ball!!!!”
Haley and Alicia had looks of shock on their faces. “Stop!” they said, but I had no intention to stop.
“People shouldn’t golf if they’re bad at it!” I screamed.
“MOLLY!” Haley bellowed. “Shut the frick up! You are yelling at Nick Jonas!” I was so surprised by her words that I choked on my next words.
“Wait—w-w-what?” I stammered. “Nick—Jonas—huh?” The guy I was yelling at was the one-and-only Nick Jonas. The Joe he was talking about was Joe Jonas.
Chapter2
I clapped my hand over my mouth in horror and started trembling. “Oh-oh-oh—my—God—you’re—N-Nick—Jonas!” I stammered. “I am sooooo sorry! I had no clue it was you!” Nick was just staring at me with a weird expression on his face, one eyebrow raised.
“Could you stop? Please?” he asked.
“Umm, yeah, sorry,” I said. “Uh, can we start that over?” I asked. He smiled, and my knees weakened at that smile.
“Yeah. Hi, I’m Nick Jonas.” We shook hands.
“Hi, I’m Molly,” I said. Joe, Kevin, and Big Rob came over.
“Hi, I’m Joe.” We shook hands.
“Kevin.” Shake.
“Big Rob.” Holy mushrooms. He is big.
Alicia and Haley came over, wide-eyed, and shook hands with JB. “OMNJ, I can’t believe that I’m actually meeting you!” Alicia said in awe.
“I can’t believe I’m meeting you!” Joe said flirtingly. She blushed and said shyly, “Thanks.”
“So, can we golf with you guys?” Kevin asked us. AAAAHHH!!! I’M GOING TO GOLF WITH THE JONAS BROTHERS!!!!
We girls looked at each other in glee. “Sure!” Joe started to flirt with Alicia, Haley chatted with Kevin, and Nick came over to talk to me.
“So what’re you doing here?” I asked, to start a conversation.
“We’re staying at the Royal Lion Hotel for our concert tomorrow. As we were driving to the hotel, our tour bus broke down near here. So we’re waiting til a mechanic comes.“ Aha! So that WAS their bus in the parking lot! He gazed at the beautiful green golf course and said,”This is a beautiful golf course.”
“Yeah,” I said. “Me, Alicia, and Haley come up here once a year. It’s been a tradition since forever.”
“Molly! Your turn!” Alicia called. I walked over, placed my ball on the tee, swung, and missed. Nick laughed.
“Nicely done,” he said. I could feel myself turning red and I glared at the ball. “Here, let me help you,” he offered. He wrapped his arms around me ( I felt a tingle go thru me), grabbed the club, swung back, and guided the club forward. It soared. “If you swing like this, the club actually comes in contact with the ball. Because the club hitting the ball is good. Hitting the ball makes it go toward the hole. You get the ball in the hole in the least number of hits, and you win.” Then I realized that he thought he didn’t know how to golf.
“Nicholas, I know how to golf! I just can’t do it well!” I said hotly. He laughed again.
“I was joking,” he admitted.
“Oh.” I said dumbly. God, I’m so stupid!
Just then, I noticed Alicia was staring intently at a bush in the distance. “Is the bush golfing too?” I asked.
She shook her head. “Paparazzi.” I gasped and ran to the guys.
“The paparazzi are following you!” I said. They all had DUH looks on their faces.
“Uh, yeah they always do!” Joe said.
“Well…I’m not used to it,” I said sheepishly.
We golfed for a long time. Too long. I got really hungry, and when I get hungry, I get light headed, woozy, and I usually faint. It happens a lot. I started to feel dizzy. Dang it Molly, if you faint, I’ll never forgive you! I told myself. You can’t faint when you’re golfing with the Jonas Brothers! But even as I thought that, I passed out and collapsed.
Chapter3
I woke up a few minutes later in Nick's arms. He was staring at me with concern in his brown eyes. "Oh, crap, did I faint?" I asked weakly. He nodded.
"Yeah, you did. Are you OK?" he asked.
"I'm fine. I faint alot when I'm hungry. We haven't eaten since seven," I said. "Ummm... can I get down now?" I asked, looking away. He looked embarrased and put me down.
"I suggest we go have lunch," Haley said. I nodded gratefully.
At lunch, there was almost noone there but us, because it was still pretty early. I felt guilty. "Uh, you guys, sorry for fainting," I said. "I dragged you away from golfing. I ruined it for ya." Haley flicked me in the head playfully.
"Shut up. It's not like you can control when you're gonna faint! Don't beat yourself up," she said. "Besides, we were hungry anyway. Right, Alicia?" She turned to Alicia.
"Right," she said. I smiled.
"You guys are awesome" I said.
We all ate and talked, and soon, waaaaaaaaaaay too soon, we had to go home, and the guys had to go to their hotel to rest for their concert. Before he got on his bus, however, he pulled me aside. "Can I have your number?" he asked. My heart skipped a beat.
"S-sure. It's 555-2376." (authors note: not my real phone number.) He pulled out his cell and put it in.
"I'll call you after the concert, K?" he said. Oh. My. God.
"K. I'll be waiting," I said, trying not to sound to eager. There was an awkward pause.
"Well... see ya later," he said.
"See ya," I echoed in shock. He went in his tour bus. As it drived away, I waved.
"Molly, come on!" Alicia called. I shook my self out of my frozen state and ran to the car.
Nick Jonas asked for my number Then it hit me. HE LIKES ME!!! "Oh my God," I murmured.
