Goodbye Apathy
I can't sleep now, no, not like I used to
I can't breathe in and out like I need to
It's breaking ice.. now, to make any movement
What's your vice? you know that mine's the illusion
And all at once (as I'm trying) I can help you out
(just to keep things right)
I'll be what you need (I kill myself to
make everything perfect for ya)
Goodbye apathy, so long apathy
Remedy sat on her front porch, looking at the photographs, and memories. There was just so much there that had not been touched before. She sifted through the photos, thinking how everything had changed. There she was a little girl, holding Mickey Mouse’s hand, while gripping a bag of cotton candy. She had been only a small girl of about five. Everyone had said she had grown up for the better, yet she didn’t think so. There in those photos, she had been loved by her parents; she had been cared for everyday, unlike now. The person taking the pictures were usually her mom or dad, but now they wouldn’t be behind the photos, they would be in heaven smiling down from above. The way they had subconsciously token all of the pictures, with smiles plastered on their faces, made her feel even worse.
Getting exasperated, Remedy carefully closed the book of memories, and set it to the side of her leg. The pain was just too hard to bear, everyone was telling her that it was alright, that even though she had to live on her own and care for herself, she would be alright. What do they know, Remedy thought, wondering how she could be able to take care of herself without her parents, a mere nineteen year old. She knew she could manage, if she ate small amounts, went to her job and got promoted, and went to her cl*CENSORED* at night. Still, she was so used to being cared by someone else, yet she also knew that many other teenagers like her cared for themselves.
(I originally wrote this as a one shot, but the idea was still there, so I wanted to make it into a real fanfiction!)
