The Way Things Are

I drove in the pickup truck with force. My hands pushing on the steering wheel, willing it to go faster. The window was open, the air streaming in and biting at my ears. The sun shone brightly in front of me, though it was going down, it was still a beautiful sunset.
I was driving in the middle of nowhere, no one knew where I was, and I also had no clue where I was. The only reason I was here is because she wanted me to come.
My dark curly hair was letting the wind get to it, making a windblown look. But I didn’t care, the only thing I wanted to do was get to the little town where she lived. I wanted to hold her in my arms, and tell her how much she meant to me.
