Chapter 1
*Flash*
“Over there!”
*flash*
“Oh! Right there!”
*flash*
“Christine! You almost dropped the camera! Be careful!”
She gave me a glare.
“Calm down, Allie. It’s fine- loosen up, will you?”
Delanney chimed in. “Yeah, it’s time to have fun!”
I guess my sisters were right. I mean, we haven’t been on a vacation in about 2 years and this trip was bound to be fun without our parents. “Okay, I’m sorry. It’s just, well, you know how nervous I get on boats.”
My sisters hugged me.
“It’s okay.”
There was a sudden jump at the sound of the ships horn. 5 minutes until we depart from L.A. I grabbed Delaney and Christine’s arms.
“Come on! Let’s go find a good spot!”
We had already put our things in our rooms so we didn’t have to worry about losing anything on deck. We stayed climbed up the stairs to the top deck where we found a spot by the railing. The horn blew as the engines started and we sailed off. Everybody was waving down to their friends and families on land and was cheering loudly. I waved to my parents. The boat started to go faster and we were officially on our vacation. I felt a piece of hair in my face. The wind was blowing extremely hard. I looked over at my sisters who were still taking pictures.
BAM!
“Owwwww.” I rubbed my head.
Christine ran over to me. “Oh gosh, Allie! Are you okay?!”
“Yeah, I’m fine.” Not. What hit me? I felt someone tap my shoulder. “Um… excuse me? I think I just hit you in the head with my iPod. Are you alright?” I turned around and saw a boy, a bit taller than me, with brown hair and these gorgeous brown eyes. He was smiling. “An iPod?” I giggled. “Yeah, I guess so.” I looked down at my feet and saw a lime green iPod video in front of me. I reached down to pick it up and accidentally brushed the boys hand. I looked at him and shyly backed away. “Oh, sorry.” I muttered. His face was turning red. “Oh It’s okay,” he smiled. Boy, was he cute. He reached his hand out towards me.
“I’m Joe. What’s your name?” I took his hand and shook it. “Allie,” I replied.
“Allie.. pretty. Oh, um, pretty name I mean. Well your pretty too! Like, uh-“ I laughed. “Thanks, you’re not so bad yourself.” We smiled at eachother. Ruining my cute guy moment, Delaney stepped forward. “Hey! I’m Delaney!”
“And I’m Christine!”
Joe politely shook their hands. “Nice to meet you two. Are you girls sisters?” I nodded. “Yep!” He smiled. “Cool… Cool…” There was a short akward silence, until two boys came up behind Joe. One younger boy and an older one. They both had the same eyes as Joe and both had curly hair. “Hey man, did you find your iPod?” The older boy took notice of us. “Oh, well hello!” The other boy stepped forward. “Hey, I’m Nick. These are my brothers, Kevin and- well, you know Joe.”
We all laughed. Kevin looked at us. “So, you girls on vacation?”
Delaney sarcastically replied, “Nahh, we’re just sailing to Mexico for 4 days. No biggie.” Kevin smiled. “I see we have a wise guy here, don’t we?” He chuckled. Delaney batted her eyelashes and laughed.
“So, with your parents I assume?” I shook my head, my hair still blowing in my face.
“Actually no. Our parents are letting us start out the summer by ourselves.”
Christine shook her head. “Yeah! No more curfews-thank goodness!” We all laughed.
“Awesome, us too! Then we should hang out soon?” Delaney nodded. “Of course!”
We all exchanged numbers and promised to hang out later.
“See you girls later!” They said as they walked away.
“Bye guys!”
I saw Nick turn around and wink at Christine. Suave.
I nudged her in the side and smiled.
I have a feeling that this cruise was going to be the best one ever- simply amazing.
