Chapter one
(My Pov)
8 years later.
"Sarah hurry up! We are going to be late for school!
my brother Jeff yelled banging on my bedroom door.
"Hang on , I'm coming." I grabbed my backpack and opened the door to realize that Jeff already left to start his car.
As I ran through the kitchen I was greeted by my dog, Pepper. I decided to not grab anything for breakfast since we were already running late. The front door swung open as I stepped out outside. The winter crisp air chilled my body. I rushed into the car and slammed the car door shut. Jeff backed out of our drive way and turned around the corner of the street.
"Let's see what is on the radio...." my brother pressed the power button and the station that was on was Q102.
"But I'm afraid....it's too late to apologize...too late....and I said it's too late to apologize."
" I like this song." I said as I began to sing along with the lyrics.
There was silence after the song ended.
"What is today's date?" asked Jeff.
"uhh.. February 4th? Yeah...that's right." I quickly answered myself turning down the volume of the radio.
"Wow six days until I turn eighteen! And seven days you turn sixteen?" Jeff said as he turned intot he school parking lot.
"Yup. But for some reason I am not that excited. I don't know why, but I'm just not. Maybe it is that it's not much of a big difference besides driving." I picked up my backpack from under my feet and onto my lap.
Jeff parked the car in is assigned parking spot. The good thing was that it was right in front of the school. I hopped out of the car and began walking towards the school doors.
(Jazzlyn's POV)
"Ugh...where is she?! I need to find out what is on that test today!" I said staring at the clock.
About a minute to 7:30am.
I looked around the classroom to notice that everyone was here, besides Sarah.
ding ding ding
Mrs. Radosin got up from her desk moving towards the front of the room. "Alright let's see who is..."
"I'm here!" yelled Sarah running into the room and out of breath.
"Miss Thompson that was the second time in row!" replied the teacher
"I'm sorry but my...uh locker was uh.. jammed and I needed to get a text book." scattered Sarah with her white lie.
"Just make sure next time you aren't late!" Mrs. Radosin, continued on through the attendance as Sarah sat next to me.
"Nice lie Sarah, what next you have to HAD to go to the bathroom?" I said jokingly.
"Hey, it wasn't my fault. My stupid alarm didn't go off!" Sarah took off her jacket putting it behind her.
"The typical Sarah.....So by the way what is on that chemistry test?! I am need to get atleast a B or my parents will flip!" I said grabbing my binder out of my backpack.
"It is on the stuff we learned yesterday." Sarah glanced up towards the board.
".............and?" replied my anxious self.
"Wow, Jazzlyn, it might be helpful if you actually stay awake during chemisty."
ding ding ding
" I just know this day is going to be sssssllllllllllooooooooowww..." I scooped up my backpack around my shoulder as I walked out the classroom with Sarah.
"Tell me about it....." Sarah said rolling her eyes back into her head.
And you know what? Jazzlyn was right.
(My POV)
The final bell rang and I leisurely walked outside to Jeff's car. He, as usal, was already in the car waiting for me.
"So how was school? You ok?" asked Jeff turning the keys in the ignition.
"Ugh." I rested my head back on the car seat.
The car ride home was nothing special. Before I even knew it we were home. Well I guess you can call Wyckoff, New Jersey my home since I lived here my entire life.
When I opened up the front door I hit something hard. My eyes grew wide and a smile formed across my face. I was speechless.
