Chapter 4
~I Doubt You Could Breath in a Corset~
I assigned Bee the boys and sent her out to get them.
“Where is she?” I murmured.
Dinner will be served soon and I was hungry.
I waited in the sunroom with my staff patiently awaiting the arrival of theses “special guests.”
There was a knock on the door.
Derek went to it and told me bee was here with the boys.
I had him let them in.
I stood up feeling the pull of the heavy weight of the ridiculous gown and kept a confidant stance and a radiant smile. Bee walked in first and then the boys did. First came in a cute curly head with a smug smile perhaps a year younger, then a attractive taller boy who seemed 4 to 5 years my senior. Then a mischievous beautiful boy around my age with black locks and stunning dark eyes walked through the door. He looked at my dress and smirked. I wanted to say something but that would not be well mannered of me. Anyway, I could see overall, I had impressed them. They were giggling, blushing, and elbowing one another like a bunch of schoolgirls. I giggled and Derek introduced me.
“Your host and heir to the Dutch throne,” I rolled my eyes but he still continued “,You may refer to her as Miss K—“
“You can call me Kate, please,” I said firmly with another smile. “It’s a pleasure meeting you. I look forward to becoming acquainted.”
“Great to meet you too Kate,” said the older one. “I’m Kevin.” He approached me and gave me an unexpected hug. I had never been hugged by a stranger before and flinched.
“Sorry did I hurt you…”
“No I’m—”
“She’s not accustomed to—”
“I’m fine!” I reassured Derek.
“Sorry, I’ve been having a rough day, is all?” I turned to my staff, “You’re dismissed,” I said through my clenched teeth. “Except you bee, wait outside…and Agnes meet me in my bedroom.”
They left and too say the least I think I kind of scared the boys with my temperament but I tried to blow it off.
“Ugh… finally a little privacy…who can be normal with so many eyes glued to your every move!”
“We know how you feel!” Kevin said referring to paparazzi. “Everywhere you go click flash click!”
We all smiled at that.
“I’m Nick, by the way,” said the youngest one.
“Nice to meet you,” I reached out to shake hands and was pulled into another hug. I guess I had to get used to that. Not that I minded…
I turned to the one with the beautiful hazel eyes and smiled.
“Nice dress,” he said sarcastically.
I smiled and replied, “Nice to meet you too, Joseph.”
He smiled back, “So you now our names, eh?”
A blush found its way into my complexion.
“Of course! Nevertheless, I had to become properly introduced. How rude would it we otherwise?” as I finished talking I pulled my lips into a devilish grin.
He laughed and pulled me into a hug. Yum. He smelled delicious.
I sat down on the couch invited them to do the same. I pulled my legs up into my chest in the most unladylike matter.
“Nice boots,” Nick commented with a smug look on his face.
I laughed and asked, “So you play in what band?”
“Jonas Brothers” they said in unison.
I smirked, “Do you have any family?”
“Yea Denise and Paul are our parents,” Kevin answered.
“But we have a little brother named Frankie,” Joe added.
“He’s crazy but we love him,” Nick added.
“How lucky you all are to have family!”
“How about you, any royal siblings,” Joe smiled.
I looked down and sighed, “No actually only a father. My father’s mistress Cecilia wanted me to consider her as a mother, but she is hardly 20!” I tried to laugh it off but it hurt too much to share that information with someone and the pain showed in my face.
“Wow, sorry,” Kevin said.
“Yes, well… Bee is a very good friend to have around! Your maid, actually now.”
Kevin blushed slightly. Hmmm. They may make a cute pair.
“O I do have my pooch,” I added and whistled loudly, “Gigi, Come!”
My little black ball of fur scampered from another room into the sunroom and hoped into my lap. She barked and the Jonas’ and I laughed.
Joe went to pet her but she growled.
“Be nice, GiGi. They are our guests.”
She wagged her tail and licked my face which made me giggle. I placed her on the floor by my feet and turned back to the boys.
“Come on I’ll show you to your rooms.”
