Chapter Two

“Wake up Elle! You too Amanda,” I yelled walking into Lauren’s room. I smiled when Lauren fell out of bed and glared at me.

“I’m up,” she muttered.

“Good. We’re leaving soon. Hurry up and get ready!”

“We’re leaving soon? The concert doesn’t start until seven!” Lauren complained.

“Well, if we’re going to be in the Big Apple, we might as well walk around for a while,” I smiled at them, walking out of the room.

I walked into my room and grabbed my cell phone. I dialed Bailey’s number and she instantly picked up. “What’s up?”

“You up?” I asked her.

“Yeah. I got up a while ago. The concert’s today right?”

“Right. Well I’m gonna go take a shower and get ready. Meet me outside at like,” I looked at my clock, “9:45ish?”

“Sounds good. See ya then.”

“See ya.”

I got out of the shower and went to my closet. I grabbed my dark skinny jeans, and a off the shoulder t-shirt. I put on my clothes and then dried my hair, letting it stay curly. I walked over to my vanity and put on a little makeup. I applied a little clear lip gloss then got up and put on a winter jacket. I took my purse off the bed and the scarf hanging from my door.

I walked downstairs and saw my family all eating breakfast. I smiled as I grabbed a bagel and ate it. Putting my black, high heeled boots on. I wrapped the scarf around my neck and set my purse on my shoulder. “Elle! Amanda! Let’s go!” I shouted up the steps. I heard Elle reply something loudly back to me. I sighed and looked through my purse for the car keys.

“Thank you honey,” my mom came over kissing me on the cheek. I smiled and said, “No problem. I kind of feel like going to New York City today.” She smiled back at me and went back to the table, talking to my dad.

Lauren and Amanda came downstairs and grabbed a bagel for themselves. They both grabbed water bottles and walked out of the house. “Bye bye!” I shouted to my mom and dad. They both smiled and waved to me. I walked out of the house and saw Bailey leaning against my car. I laughed and walked over to her. “Sorry, they took forever.” She nodded and walked over to the passengers seat. “It’s okay. I understand.”

Lauren and Amanda sat in the back. We all buckled up and then I started the car. I gave the directions to Bailey, “Read them to me.” I backed out of the driveway and smiled as she sighed. “I hate directions,” she said. I laughed, “Me too. But you’re not the one driving.”

We got on the highway without a problem. My sister and her friend were talking nonstop in the back about who was playing. I heard something brothers? What brothers? They kept on saying how much they loved these brothers. I looked over at Bailey and she was listening to the song on the radio.

Kiss Kiss by Chris Brown and T-Pain came on. I smiled and turned up the radio. The car started blasting the song. Bailey and I sang and danced to the song. Obviously she got more freedom with the dancing, since I was behind the wheel. Lauren and Amanda laughed and danced in the back seat also.

At last, we got to the big city and drove around for a while. I talked to the girls about what we would do. Lauren and Amanda said that they wanted to just go wait in line, but I said no. That would take forever and I knew I couldn’t sit still that long. So, I parked someplace close to the arena.

“Alright guys. Here’s the plan,” I turned in my seat to see Lauren and Amanda, “We’re going to walk around the city for a while. Look at shops and whatnot, then we’ll go have a lunch. After a few more shops, we’ll go to the arena and wait. Sounds good?” They nodded at me and I looked at Bailey, “You okay with that?” She laughed at me and said, “Duh!”

We walked around the arena for a while, then continued walking and hit Times Square. Bailey and I walked into almost every single shop. Everything was expensive, but it was NYC. Nothing unusual. Lauren and Amanda followed us around and didn’t complain about where we walked. I knew Lauren and Amanda loved it. Who doesn’t love New York City?

Around twelve, we found a restaurant and decided on eating in there. We walked in and waited to be seated. I told them non-smoking, while taking off my scarf. She lead us to a nice little corner and we sat down in the booth.

“Guys, I need to use the restroom,” I told them.

“Thank you for telling us,” Lauren said sarcastically.

I smiled and said, “I’ll be right back.”

After I was finished with using the restroom, I washed my hands and dried them. I walked over to the door and opened the door. It flung open and I heard it collide with something, or someone. I heard someone groan and then fall on the ground. I gasped and covered my mouth as I walked around the door. I let go of the door and saw the person lying on the ground.

I ran over and got on my knees, looking at the person, “I am so sorry! Are you okay?” I tried to get a good look at him, but his hands covered his face. He groaned and muffled something into his hand, “I think I’m fine.”

I bit my lip and looked at him. I didn’t know if I should help him out or just let him handle it by himself. I heard people around me, talking about what just happened. Some of them laughed and continued watching. I saw him move his hands and get up slowly. He laughed and turned to look at me. That was the first time I saw his face. And it was a look I’ll probably never forget even if I tired.

He smiled at me and laughed. At first he didn‘t say anything. He just looked at me. I blushed and looked away. “Wow,” he finally said. “You knocked me of my feet.”

I turned back to look at him and said, “I really didn’t mean to! I didn’t-”

He cut me off, “It’s fine.” He tried to stand up but couldn’t.

I gave him my hand and stood up, pulling him with me. “Thank you,” he smiled. I looked around me and saw a waitress, “Miss? May I get some ice for him?” She smiled and nodded her head. I waited with him, waiting for the ice. Not a minute later, she brought the ice in a nice little bag. I took it, thanking her and gave it to him.

He put it on his nose and said, “Thank you.”

“It was the least I could do,” I bit my lip.

I started to walk away, but he grabbed my arm, “I didn‘t catch your name.”

I grinned and turned around, “I never gave it.”

I saw him smile and then nod. I back turned around and gracefully walked back to my table. I felt some kind of regret that I didn’t find out his name and that I never gave him mine, but he was a stranger. The one time I found a person even slightly attractive, I don’t know who he is and if we’ll ever meet again.

I sat down at the table and looked at the plate of food in front of me. “I took the liberty of ordering your food. What took you so long?” Bailey asked me. I looked at her and slowly shook my head, clearing my previous thoughts. I closed my eyes and sighed, “Nothing happened.” Bailey looked at me oddly and I knew I was going to tell her later on. I couldn’t possibly keep this from her.

“What happened?” Bailey asked once Lauren and her friend went to use the bathroom before we left. I sighed and wrapped my scarf around my neck, putting on the jacket.

“I opened the restroom door and it crashed into some guy, making his nose almost break. He fell to the ground and I felt horrible,” I told her quickly.

“Wait, wait. A guy?” Bailey smirked. She looked at me expectedly.

I grinned and muttered, “He was… okay.”

“Wow. Okay is a long way for you,” she laughed.

“Shut up,” I shoved her softly.

Lauren and Amanda came back and put their jackets on, getting ready for the cold wind to hit us in the face. I didn’t mind the cold air, I love it. Christmas time is my favorite time of the year. Everything about it is just so… homey. I got up from the booth and waited for Bailey to get out also.

We started walking out towards the busy streets of New York City, when I felt someone was watching me. I slowed my pace and looked around me. After I looked to my left and right a million times, I turned around slowly. I saw him sitting there, smiling at me. He was sitting with three other boys, a woman and a man. I smiled back at him and quickly walked out the door.

“I saw him,” I told Bailey loudly. “He was smiling. At me!”

She laughed, “This is way too cute.”

“What?” I asked her, completely oblivious to what she was implying.

“You have a crush.”

“No, I do not,” I scoffed.

“Yes, you do.”

“Whatever. I do not. And I’ll probably never see him again. It’s not in the stars,” I told her.

She sighed and said, “Whatever you say."

You think they'll be back on?
By the way, what do you think they're gonna do tonight?
I mean, they can't all drink. Unless, they try to, but I doubt that.
I wish I was one of their good friends, that they took everywhere. :)
