Chapter 1- Meeting Someone New
Joe was just getting over his breakup with his ex, Krista. They had a nasty breakup actually, and the scene kept replaying over and over in his head again. He had left her 62 messages saying how sorry he was and that she needed to call him back as soon as possible. She never returned his call, not once. Now Joe lay on his bed staring up at the ceiling wondering what went wrong in the end. He couldn't believe it was over. He had given her so much stuff, and they shared great memories.
Joe heard Kevin's feet thumping up the stairs.
"Hey buddy, stop mooching and get downstairs to eat," Kevin said trying to make Joe laugh.
"No. I will never ever come out of my room-ever. No one can make me," Joe replied now on his stomach so that his face was in his pillow.
"Joey, can you please come down?" Joe heard a tiny voice. It was Frankie.
"Except for the Frankster," Joe replied jumping up from his bed, picking up Frankie and ruffling his hair.
The next day, Kevin and Nick decided that it would be best for Joe to get out and "socialize" with other girls. Joe didn't like the idea..not at all.
"I don't think this is a good idea. Everywhere we go reminds me of Krista," Joe said in a worried tone.
"Thats because you went everywhere with Krista. Start thinking big, big bro, get out, learn to live life, love it also. Forget about that dreaded Krista, and find someone new-and nicer," Nick ranted.
"Are you done yet?" Joe asked in a snippy tone and giving Nick a look.
"Actually i'm not," Nick replied with a smirk.
"If your just going to trash Krista all day, i'd rather not be part of it. I would rather be hiding in the basement, away from society, playing X-Box under "Anoymous"," Joe replied now staring out the window.
Nick sighed,"Joe, thats what i'm talking about. Your not going to live forever..thats obvious, what you should do is just get out and learn to live life before it ends,"
A silence followed after that. It was awhile before anyone said anything or saw anything, then, out of nowhere, Joe found someone he was hoping to find.
"Whoa pull over, i think i just found her," Joe shouted with a smile.
