Chapter One. I like comments so please comment me on how you guys like it:)
I sat down on the couch and read for multiple hours. Watching the clock and waiting for my mom to get home from work. Thankfully, I had the day off to recuperate and do what I wanted for a day. I had already cleaned the whole house and pre made coffee for my mom when she got home. I stopped grudgingly right when the house phone rang. I got up slowly and reached for the phone. ’Unknown number’ showed up on the caller I.D. I chose not to answer it. I had a thing for unknown numbers. If it didn’t say who exactly it was, I never answered it. The answering machine picked up. Going through the usual ’Hi, you’ve reached Darlene, Jeff, and Isabella-Renee. Please leave your name and number after the beep.’ A raspy male voice came over the other end, which totally creped me out. ’Hi this is Roger Jones, calling for a Jeff Hansen, we’ve got side work for him.’ Click.
I shuttered at the voice and continued to read. I was amazed at how one chapter could suck a person in, suck them in into a world of mythical creatures that people thought never existed. I smiled as the character, Bella, punched Jacob in the face. I began having a un-controlling fits of laughter. I was so engrossed into the book and its characters, I started believing that I was Bella, hence my name, Isabella.
Fate.
I shook my head, recycling that thought. A got to the next three pages before my cell rang this time. Mommy Dearest showed up on my I.D. I answered it.
"Hey mom, you done yet?" I asked.
"No, I have to do another house. I probably won’t be home for another three to four hours. Dad won’t be home until I get there so Do something to keep you occupied.” She said apologetically. I sighed.
“Okay, hey maybe I can finish the rest of this book. I’m all set.” I said hopefully.
"Bella, I want you to do your homework. You’ve only got two books left. Stop procrastinating and do them.” I sighed again. I went into home school after my sophomore year. My friends changed dramatically and I was a loner. Because of that, I got really good grades but I just didn’t want to deal with the students there any more. I felt like I had to leave so, two years after high school, I did.
“Okay fine.” I said, giving in. I was so to say the good child in the family. I did what I was told and never really complained all that much. Mom laughed over the phone.
“Thank you.” She said. We said our goodbyes and hung up. I moaned and sat Eclipse down and grabbed my History books and sat down with the Twilight soundtrack quietly playing in the background. I had to have some kind of background noise or else I would go insane with the silence.
Maybe I should tell you about myself before I get to much into my story. My name is Isabella-Renee Marie Hansen. Long I know but I absolutely love my name. I grew up and I am still living in Oregon. I only moved four times, with in the state, and am living in a small ’town’ called Dexter. Not much here but a library where I go almost every day and a mini market down the way and I think about three drug stores with assessable liquor. Nice right? Ha, not really. As a sixteen year old, I’m very humble and never really to uptight. Yes I have my moments but who doesn’t? I’m not a big shopper but go directly to the clearance racks in the big stores. So technically, I’m not a materialistic type of a girl, thank goodness.
I have only one brother, Cody, and many, MANY cousins. I grew up with one of my favorite one, Keith, pretty much all my life. But when I was eleven, he moved to California. For that, I hate California. Not really but I want him back up here. Cody grew up, moved, got married, and is living not even forty five minutes away from my house. We didn’t really get along when we were younger but as of right now, he’s my best friend. So is his wife, Sharon. I love that girl to death.
My features, well, we’ll get into that later. As of right now, you seriously need to read my story. It’s got some horrible, bad news, good news, second chances, and well a lot of lovely people. Preferably the Jonas Brothers.
So, I sat at the table, doing my homework. The day was blooming, flowers were opening into the rays of the sun to grasp and let the heat sink in. I opened the sliding glass door to let the warm summer air in. I breathed in deeply as the fresh air relaxed me. I started studying again. Hours passed and I was finally done with a whole examination and didn’t want to start another until later in the day. So as any normal teenager would do, I logged online. I went to a Jonas site and looked at the updates (jonasbrothersfan.com J ) and saw a contest to enter and win backstage passes for a JB concert. I was excited and looked for more information. It was a ’send in picture to show us how much you love the Jonas Brothers.’ I rolled my eyes. Couldn’t they make it more exciting? So I started to brainstorm. Nothing with spelling their names out with rocks, sand, or flowers. To predictable. No, this had to be something so bizarre they would have to pick me. I looked outside and smiled to myself. The lawn needed mowed.
Perfect…
