This is for Katy, the most AMAZING bumper in the history of the earth. She is amazing. Happy Birthday!
Enjoy: )
I’m Here Now
Katy paced around her room, trying to decide what to wear for her 18th birthday pool party. She finally decided on a striped red and white bathing suit, and covered it up with a white skirt. She pulled her blonde hair half-up and secured it with a clip. She started coming down the steps when someone noticed her and began clapping loudly. Soon everyone joined in. This is what Katy lived for- the feeling of being a star. But today, she didn’t have a Jonas surrounding her like at most events.
She chatted with her friends, casually mingling until she made it outside. She slipped into the pool, not caring that no one else was in there. Her mind was somewhere else. It was focused on the boyfriend that would never show up.
That was why so many people came. They weren’t here for her. They were here for Joe Jonas. Her boyfriend. The one that was even too busy to send her simple “Happy Birthday” text.
People started calling her name, saying that food was ready. She got up and fixed herself a hamburger. Then she sat back down on a beach chair. She pulled out her phone and nearly screamed when it said “New Text Message.” But her heart dropped when she say who it was from.
Katy,
Happy 18th! Today’s your day!
And Nick says hi. So does Frankie.
We’re in Canada right now. So far from you: ( wish we could be there.
You Rock,
Kev
Katy smiled. At least the other 3 cared about her. She decided to text Kevin back.
Kevvy,
Thanks. How’s Joe?
Luv, Katy
Within seconds she got a response.
He’s good. Gotta go, see you later,
Kev
Katy sighed and threw her phone down onto a table. Today was just a waste, she figured. What’s the point of having a party if your boyfriend won’t even call you?
She simply talked with random people, many of whom she had only met once in her life. Several asked about Joe or his brothers. She simply said, “They’re great.”
After eating cake, people started leaving. She was glad. All she wanted was for the day to be over.
Finally the last guest, her best friend, left. The house was empty, just with trash all over. She muttered to herself, then began picking stuff up. After making the place look decent, she plopped down on the couch and watched TV, being careful to avoid any celebrity shows. She finally settled on Spongebob.
She looked at the clock, which read 6:34. Eventually she dozed off, not caring she was still wearing a bathing suit. She still couldn’t get her mind off of Joe.
“Katy, your phone!” someone yelled from upstairs.
Katy woke up and rubbed her eyes. She looked around, then saw her phone lighting up on the table. She ran over to it and clicked Send, not even looking at the caller id.
“Hello?” she said.
“Hey,” a voice said back. She knew that voice by heart.
“Joe?”
“Sure is. Happy birthday, Katy.”
“Joe! You called!”
“Well of course I’d call. It’s your birthday,” he said.
“I know, it’s just...why’d you wait so long? I went all day without hearing from you.” Suddenly the doorbell rang. “Hold on, someone’s at the door.”
She walked to the front door and swung it open.
And he stood there. He was dressed up in tight pants and a vintage t-shirt.
“Joe,” Katy said. She couldn’t believe he had shown up. She ran up to him and threw her arms around his neck. He spun her around and pulled her closer.
She loved the way he held her. He was so strong and protective, yet gentle and caring.
“Baby, I’ve missed you more than the world,” he said into her hair. She smiled and faced him. "You are the most amazing person I've ever known. Katy, I love you more than anything." He brushed his lips against hers, not letting her say anything.
"I thought you were in Canada," she said when he pulled back and lowered her to the ground.
"Oh, Kevin. That's what he came up with?" Joe said, chuckling.
"Yeah."
"We weren't even near Canada. We were down at the mall, picking this out," he said, pulling out a box.
"Oh, Joe," she said as she took it out of his hand. She opened it and saw a silver heart. It had "J+K" engraved on the front, and on the back it said "I Love You."
"I didn't know how long it took to make these things," Joe said. "So that's why it took forever."
"It's beautiful," Katy said. She turned around and he put it around her neck. It fit perfectly.
"It doesn't even compare to you," Joe said. Katy spun around to face him.
“But do you know how I have felt all day?”
“Absolutely miserable without me?”
“Bingo,” she said.
“But I’m here now,” he said with a smirk.
“Yes, you are,” she said as she leaned in to kiss him. “And I am so glad.”
