I was totally and completely stoked. Switchfoot was coming to Florida and to the venue my best friends mom works at. So we got AMAZING tickets - 3rd row - and thanks to endless hours of listening to the radio, we got backstage pass.es. The concert was going to be absolutely amazing.

Switchfoot is my ALL TIME favorite band, and when I heard they were going to be in Florida I quickly bought tickets and got backstage pass.es. I've always wanted to meet them so here was my chance. Nick decided to come with me. Kevin had other plans, whatever, it was fine. When we got to the venue it was huge, and we found our seats, 3rd row. There were a few girls in the same row as us that caught my eye but the concert started before I could get their attention. It didn't matter at that point, because the concert was sick!

I think I killed my voice at the concert. We screamed so much, it was amazing. We kept getting looks from these guys down at the other end of the row, but it didn't matter, because we were this close to my all time favorite band. And in a matter of moments we were heading backstage to meet them. I thought my heart was going to explode from excitement. 
"Gah. Can you believe we're going to be meeting Switchfoot? My all-time favorite band?" I asked my best friend Meg.
"Nope. And neither can someone else.." She said pointing in front of us. It was those same guys from before.
"K, your point?" I asked her, confused by this point.
"The taller one said the exact same thing as you. 'we're meeting switchfoot, my all-time favorite band'" She said laughing. He must have heard because he turned around and stopped in his tracks.

I heard some girls behind us, and that's when I saw the same girls from our row, the ones screaming their heads off during the concert. I stopped to talk to them. There was one, really tall, with wavy brown hair, and gorgeous brown eyes. 
"Hey there." I said politely. "I'm Joe." I finished reaching my hand out to her. 
"Sarah. Nice to meet you Joe." She said with a big smile on her face. 
"So I'm guessing you liked the concert. With all the screaming you and your friend did." I laughed as I pointed to the girl now talking to Nick. 
"Totally. We are obsessed with Switchfoot. Best band ever." She said flailing her arms around to prove a point. I just started laughing. "Something funny?" She said with a semi-serious face. 
"Just you. And your flailing." I said immitating her. She gave me a little punch in the arm. It was weird, I had only known this girl for 5 minutes and we were acting as if we knew each other for our entire lives.

Joe. He's cute. And I couldn't help but stare. Soon we were near the band. That's when I started to get nervous. I'm never nervous or shy, until now, I guess. We slowly walked up, and talked to them about the concert for a few minutes. It was short but sweet. Then we were soon escorted to the door. 
"Sarah. I'm gonna go grab the car." Meg said smiling at me. She gave me a look. The look she always gives me when I like a guy. I nodded in agreement to the car statement and the look. She laughed and walked off with Joe's brother. I turned back to him since he was just standing there with me.
"Well tonight was sure fun." I smiled. 
"Totally. Hey maybe there'll be more fun had later on." He replied with a wink. I just gave him a look of questioning. "Can I see that?" He asked for my pass. 
"Why you have your own?" I said with a little laugh. I hated my laugh, but whatever. 
"I know, just let me see it real quick." He said holding his hand out. I took the lanyard off my neck and handed it to him. He turned so I couldn't see what he was doing. 

"You better not put that anywhere innapropriate" She said laughing.
"Eww. No. Almost done." I said laughing along. I still had my back turned to her. "Done." I had finished, handing it back to her. She was trying to see what I did, but it was to dark outside. Just then Meg pulled up and honked her horn. 
"Nick ready to go?" I said as Nick got out of the car.
"I guess. Later Meg." He said as he hopped out of the car and we walked away.
"Later to you too Sarah." I gave a wink and walked off with a smile on my face.

I hopped into Meg's car and we drove home. "Sarah & Joe, sittin in a tree.." Meg started. I socked her in the arm. "OW!" She yelled.
"Shut up then!" I yelled back and started laughing. "Hey can you switch the lights on for a sec." I said to her. She leaned forward and turned them on. Had fun. Call me. Was written on my lanyard of my backstage pass. "Eek." I shrieked.
"What?" Meg said stopping the car. We were still in the parking lot so no worries. 
"Joe." Was all I said. 
"Oooooh. I see. Again. Sarah and Joe sittin in a tree." She went on to finish the song. I just stared at my lanyard. 
Who knew Switchfoot would become a quick matchmaker.

Oooh yeah, I've never put myself as the best friend, so I decided to.
Oh and seriously I've done that before with my friends, and I sing it REALLY loud. lol
