Chapter 16[i think?]
*Alexa's P.O.V*
I breathed in the humid, wet early May air. I watch the water lap around a big rock in the middle of the pond.
I hadn't been here since the funneral. It was my getaway, when I needed to, well get away. I replayed the day Katie sohwed me this place that would soon become a part of our daily life.
*Flashback**
"ugh! How much longer?" I had been through H*** today and I wasn't enjoying this 3 mile hike at all.
"Calm down, we're almo- ah! here we are." she stopped motioning for me to look. "Wow....." I breathed. "It's -" "Amazing? I know" she cut in. Amazing didn't even begin to cover it .It was like a little oyasis in the middle of the desert.
I looked from left to right, there was a small [but not to small] pond with a huge rock in the middle. Many other rocks were scattered around the pond, and one directly to my left was big enough for both Katie and I to sit comfortably on.
"How in the world did you find this?" I asked breathing all of the sernity in.
"Well after everything that went down with Sarah-"
I nodded remembering how hard this past month had been for Katie, seeing as how she lost her best friend over 'he said she said' talk.
"-I couldn't take it, so I went on a run, I know I know..." she defended looking at my widening eyes. " But it was only a short one!"
I looked at her in disbelief. "You call a 3 and a half mile hike up a fricken mountain SHORT? Man, what's jog? From here to Canada? " I joked.
" Very funny... I know Ms. Hally wants me to save my legs from the track season next month, but I had to run. It calms me down."
It was amazing how diffrent me and my sister was. For me running the mile once a week in P.E. was the worst part of the week, for Kaite it was her highlight.
"Any way, I was just kinda exploring around, and well I found this." She said pushing her straight brown hair behind her ears.
"I was thinking maybe we should come here once and a while to you know. Talk, without mom and dad listening, you know talk about whats really going on in our lives." she said sitting down on the two-seater rock.
** End Flashback**
I was so caught up in that moment in time, the moment that my sister became not only my sibling, but my ali, my friend, that I didn't even notice someone come up beside me and sit down on the huge rock.
When i turned to face the hill I jumped and nearly took off runing, noticing the presence of someone else.
"Hey." the familar voice rang out,"we need to talk." it said. I turned giving him my full attention. Dang it. Now was not the time.
