I asked her to stay but she wouldn't listen
She left before I had the chance to say

~Kevin's POV~
I watched Emily as she walked out to her car as the tears slowly started to form in my eyes.I tried to tell her to stay but she did want to listen.I was going to telll her the one thing I knew would mend everything that was broken.
I love you Emmy!
It was to late now.She was long gone.I sighed as I slowly walked back towards my rental car as I sat there trying to figure out what had gone wrong in our friendship.I mean I knew I didn't call her as much as I used to and when I did we only talked for a short amount of time but that was only because I was always busy with the band.
Then I remembered part of it was because I knew the less I talked with her the less I would miss her.The less time I would spend wishing she was with me at night like she was when we were younger.
After what seemed like hours I finally started to car and drove off towards the closest hotel that just happened to be down the street from Emily's apartment.
Every night you cry yourself to sleep
Thinking: "Why does this happen to me?
Why does every moment have to be so hard?"

I sighed as I laid in bed trying to get some sleep.I glanced over at the clock and groaned it was already two in the monring,I had been laying there for about four hours trying to sleep but it just wouldn't come all I could think about was Emily and how I had hurt her.I slowly got up out of my bed and got dressed before I headed out on a walk.
I walked towards Emily's apartment building and stopped outside of it with a little sigh.
"Kevin?"I heard someone say and I looked towards the door to see Emily's room mate Sarah standing there.
"Hey Sarah."I said with a small smile.
"What are you doing here?"She asked as she walked over giving me a quick hug"I thought after Emily told you what she did that you'd be gone."
"I'm not leaving not without her."I said softly shaking my head"What are you doing out this late?"
"I had to work a double shift at the bowling alley I work at."She said with a little sigh as he unlocked the door"She's going to kill me for this but why don't you come on in."
I smiled a little as I headed inside and up to their apartment.Sarah unlocked the door and walked in me following behind her.All of the lights were off so she flipped one on and looked at me.
"You can go in her room and see if she's awake."She said softly pointing to one of the doors that had pictures all over it"If she's not please don't wake her up."
"Thanks Sarah."I said softly before I walked that way.
I slowly opened the door careful not to make any noise as I walked into the room.Emily was sound asleep on her bed.I slowly tiptoed over to her and as I got closer a saw the tears stains on her cheek.I wanted to kick myself for making her cry.I slowly leaned down and kissed her cheek.
"I love you Emmy."I whispered before I slowly walked back out of the room.
I ended up not going to sleep that night as I sat up in my hotel room thinking about what I was going to do to get her back.I watched the sunrise from my balcony.

I quickly walked into the room and picked my phone up,Joe's name was flashing across the screen.
"Hello."I answered.
"Kevin where are you,you were supposed to be home by now we have a show tonight."He said.
"I'm not coming."I replied.
"What do you mean your not coming back?"Joe asked"Kevin do you know how many fans will be dissapointed if your not there tonight?"
"I don't care Joe,I'm not coming back without her."I said as I hung the phone up and threw it onto the bed as I went to the bathroom to take a shower.

As I let the water hit me all the thoughts of mine and Emily's childhood came rushing back to me.I smiled as I thought about the time we had kissed at one of those many sleepovers that we would have in her tree house.We were thirteen then and well it took alot to let our parents let us stay in the same tree house.They sent Joe with us just to be safe and well he had decided that playing truth or dare would be fun.
~Flasback~
"Emily truth or dare?"Joe asked her with a little smile.
"Truth."She said as she glanced at me.
"Aww come on your no fun."Joe said shaking his head.
"Just ask her a question Joe."I said sighing a little.
"Fine."Joe said as he looked up at the ceiling and tried to think of something"Oh I got it...do you like Kevin as more than I friend?"
My eyes got wide as I looked at Emily her face was red as she looked down at the ground and the slowly answered him.
"N....no....he's my best friend."She replied but she didn't look up.
"Your turn."Joe said.
"Why don't you just go for me Joe."She said softly"I'm really not good at this."
"Ugh fine."Joe said turning to me"Kevin truth or dare?"
"Uh.....dare."I said with shrug.
A smirk came to Joe's face as he looked at Emily and then back at me.I knew something bad couldn't come out of this but I didn't want to dissapoint him in saying truth.
"I dare you to kiss Emily."He said.
Emily's eyes quickly shot up as she looked at Joe and then back at me.
"Joe....I...."
"You have to do it."Joe said quickly as he pointed his finger at me.
I sighed and bit my lip as I slowly crawled over to Emily who was watching me with her eyes wide.I slowly put my shaky hands on both sides of her face.
"Kevin."She said softly.
"I have to."I said softly as I slowly leaned forward but I completly missed her mouth.
Joe was laughing at me as I looked over at him glaring.I looked back at Emily as she looked back at me,my hands still cupping her cheeks.
"One more time."I whispered as I slowly leaned in her eyes slowly shut and so did mine as I kissed her.
It was in that moment I fell in love with her.
~End flashback~
Needless to say Joe ended up telling on us and we were grounded from ever staying with each other in the tree house.It didn't stop us from sneaking out there in the middle of the night to talk.We ended up not talking about the kiss ever again but it didn't stop me from thinking about it or seeing Emily in a whole new light.

I slowly walked down the sidewalk once again headed to Emily's apartment in the middle of the night.Just like I thought Sarah was making her way inside.
"Sarah."I said and she quickly turned to look at me.
"Kevin what are you doing here?"She asked.
"I need to come up to your apartment again."I said softly holding up and envelope"I need to put this where Emily can see it."
"I can give it to her Kevin."Sarah said softly.
"I really want to do it myself."I said softly.
Sarah sighed but then slowly nodded her head as we walked inside.
She let me in and I slowly mad my way to Emily's room,she was sound asleep with a book laying beside her.I slowly walked over to the bed side table and set the not down in the light I could see her tears stained face.
Looks like she's been crying again.
I slowly looked down at the book and noticed that it was her writing,I knew it was wrong but I couldn't help it.I slowly picked the book up and read what she had written.
She had written something about letting me go and how stupid she was for doing it.I sighed as I sat the diary back down and then slowly walking out of the room.
"Thanks Sarah."I said as I walked past her with a small smile I headed out the door.

I looked at everything that was on the picnic table trying to make sure that it was perfect for the dinner I had set up for Emily.I just hoped that she showed up.I sighed as I looked down at my watch.I had told her in the letter to be here at seven and it was already seven o five.I sighed as I ran my fingers through my hair and looked at the table once more.I heard a car pull up and I quickly looked up to see Emily slowly getting out of her car.I watched as she slowly walked towards me,she was wearing a jean skirt that went a little bit past her knees and a band t-shirt.I watched as she slowly walked towards me her arms crossed because she didn't have a jacket on.Her hair was up in a messy bun and she looked like she had just got off work.
"Hey."I said when she reached me"I thought you weren't going to show."
"I had to work which is why I look like crap."She said softly shaking her head"Why did you want me to come anyways?"
I sighed as I slowly moved out of the way so that she could see and as soon as I did she gasped and looked at me.
"I thought we could have dinner together."I said softly.
"Kevin I thought I told you that you weren't anything to me anymore."She said softly.
"Then what are you doing here?"I asked taking a step towards her.
She looked at me.
"I...I don't know."She said softly.
"The reason I never called you as much or tried to talk to you is because......"
"I know...I know because you were busy."She interrupted me.
"No Emmy it was because I was afraid if I talked to you it would make me miss you even more."I said softly as I reached foreward and took her hand in mine"I knew the less time I spent talking to you the less time I spent wishing that you were with me."
"It broke my heart Kev."She said softly and I saw tears coming to her eyes.
"I know and I'm so sorry for that Emmy but there's something I need to tell you."I said softly as I stroked her hand with my thumb.
"What?"She asked as a single tear rolled down her cheek and I wiped it away with my thumb.
"Do you remember the last time that we got to stay in the tree house together with our parents knowing we were there?"I asked.
"Yeah and Joe dared you to kiss me after he had asked me if I liked you as more than a friend."She said softly her face turning red a little.
"Yeah."I said softly"Emmy when I kissed you that day I knew that I loved you as more than just a friend and that I wanted to spend the rest of me life with you even if I was just thirteen."
I slowly cupped her cheeks with my hands as I looked down at her a small smile on my face as I leaned foreward to kiss her,she kept her eyes open and out of nervousness I missed her mouth causing us both to laugh.
"One more time."I whispered as I slowly leaned in her eyes slowly shut and so did mine as I kissed her.

I watched Emily as she ate the dinner that I had made for us.I noticed that she was shivering so I slowly took my coat off and walked around the table drapping it over her shoulders as I slowly kissed her cheek.
"Thanks."She said softly.
I smiled as I sat down across from her once again.
"Emily I regret ever letting you go."I said softly and she smiled a little as I felt her leg run up and down mine"I can promise you right now that I won't ever let you go not again."
"When are you heading back on tour?"She asked.
"Tomorrow."I said sighing and I saw tears start to come to her eyes as she quickly looked away from me.
I quickly got up and went over to her again as I sat down and pulled her into my lap putting my hand under her chin and turning her head so that she was looking at me.
"Emily I'm not going home without you."I said softly as the tears fell slwoly down her face"I love you and I want you to come on tour with me."
"Kevin I have a job."She said softly.
"I can get you a new one working on the tour or something."I said as I looked up at her"Just say you'll come with me."
She leaned her forehead against mine as she looked me in the eyes.
"Ok,I'll come with you."She said softly.
I smiled as I slowly kissed her.
"I love you."I said softly
"I love you too."She whispered.
