Grr...so I'm not in the best mood right now, but I needed to write something. I know it's definitely not my best work, and I apologize. It's something I just whipped up, and I'm sorry if it's not very good...please comment, though. It would make my day a whole bunch better.
Here Without You
[A One-Shot Song Fic]
Song: “Here Without You” by Push Play
Every time your eyes meet mine
It gives me chills up and down my spine
I can feel it through your fingertips
And I'm sensing that its mutual through your lips
First kiss by your front door
You're all I wanted and so much more
I promise you I that won't do wrong
If you just listen to my song
You're more than beautiful
And time is on your side
Emily sat in her room, staring out of the raindrop-covered window at the gray, cloudy sky. She missed him, oh, how she missed him. From the moment he first asked her out, she knew he was right. She figured he would be gone most of the time, but six months was too long to go without seeing him. He was the first guy she had ever fallen madly in love with, even at her naïve age of 15. She missed the way his few stray brown curls fell across his forehead, the sweetness in his voice when he told her how much he loved her, how he held her as she slept. He was her everything.
Nick lay on the brown leather couch, Switchfoot blasting through his iPod headphones, watching the miles and miles of farmland pass by as the enormous tour bus rumbled along. It had been six months since he saw her last. His heart ached with loneliness, even in a crowded tour bus. She was the one for him; he knew it well. He knew, from the moment he first laid eyes on her after that concert, that she was everything he could ever want.
Days pass by
I wonder why
You're not by my side
I'm here without you
Sleepless nights
I try and try
To figure out why
I'm here without you
Nick stood behind the table, a fake smile covering his face. He tried to appear as though he was excited to meet the people who had gotten him to where he was. He loved his fans and would do anything in the world for them, but right now, he just wasn’t in the mood. He watched as girls walked past, reaching for a hug when all he wanted was to get into his bunk and sleep.
Just when he thought the world might end, she gracefully approached the table. His brothers greeted her as they did every other fan, but Nick was suddenly full of life. He watched as she nervously made her way down to his end of the table, her golden blonde locks sitting perfectly atop her shoulders. Her beautiful green-blue eyes slowly met his love struck gaze, instantly making a connection.
“Hi, I’m Nick,” he introduced himself.
She shyly smiled and stuck out her hand, responding, “Emily.”
Nick refused her hand, pulling her into a hug. She tensed up at the thought of hugging her favorite rockstar, but those feelings immediately disappeared at the gentleness of his touch, the incredible way he smelled, even after a long, sweaty show. Who knew that only a few hours later, she would be chatting with the wonderful boy over two mugs of Starbucks coffee?
Every since the first day we met
First date we can never forget
Just walking through the city streets
Holding hands in the theater seats
Just you and me side by side
Two hearts ready to confide
I promise you that I won't do wrong
If you just listen to my song
You're more than beautiful
And time is on your side
It was now six months to that day.
Nick quickly dialed the number he knew all too well. A smile grew on his face when her sweet voice echoed through his expensive piece of equipment.
“I miss you” was the first thing he heard.
“Oh, you don’t even know, Em,” he said softly. He went on to tell her how his hectic day went, listening to her everyday, regular school girl problems, giving as much advice as he could. It was good to hear about something other than his brothers and his touring schedules.
“When do you think I’ll get to see you again?” she asked quietly, breaking an awkward silence.
Nick bit his lip. When were they going to see each other again? He knew she wouldn’t want to stay in this relationship if she wasn’t going to see him sometime soon, but what could he do? And it suddenly came to him.
“Hey, babe, I’ve got to go. Call me later?” he said, sounding rushed. Emily was disappointed, but there was nothing she could do, she decided. Reluctantly, she hung up and went back to looking out of the rainy window.

Nick hung up and quickly talked with his father, working quite a bit of convincing in to the conversation.
A few short minutes later, Nick caught a cab to the airport, running across the sunny runway and up the stairs of the band’s private jet. He pictured her smiling face the entire plane ride, the beautiful way she moves replaying through his head.
Nick jumped out of his seat when the pilot announced that they had landed, sprinting out into the rainy New York weather. There was a car waiting for him, in which he hopped into and ordered the driver to go. As he rode along, he realized that he was three hours ahead of California time, meaning it was nearing 11:00 there in New York.
When the driver pulled up in front of the cozy New York suburb home, Nick flung the door open and pulled his phone out of his pocket, not caring that it was now pouring down rain.
“Hey!” her voice rang through the earpiece, her mood lightening with the fact that he would call her back.
“Look out your window,” Nick replied, curls dripping down onto his face. There was a gasp, then the sound of the phone hitting a carpeted floor. A few mere seconds later, she was trampling across the soppy, wet, muddy grass, and into his arms.
“You’re…you’re here,” she whispered, looking into his eyes as the rain poured down onto their heads.
He didn’t respond by saying anything, just by placing a soft kiss on her lips that was worth a thousand words.
