So, Kerry wanted me to write this little oneshot, since the two of us have fallen in love with Joe and the return of the Joehawk :D But of course... we could never compete with Aisling :)
I hope you all enjoy it!
Competition
It was a pretty typical Friday evening for Chrystal, Kerry, and Aisling. The three friends always hung out on Friday nights, alternating between one of their apartments. Tonight was Aisling’s night to hold the little get together, which of course meant that it wasn’t a “little” get together at all.
Aisling always invited her best guy friend… the one and only Joe Jonas. Which meant that along with Joe came an entire entourage, which included Nick and Kevin, Kevin’s fiancé, and the rest of their band. The girls didn’t mind though, because that just meant more extremely attractive guys would be there for their viewing pleasure.
Chrystal and Kerry were helping Aisling arrange some snacks on the kitchen table, when they heard the doorbell ring. Aisling quickly rushed towards the door and was immediately greeted by welcoming yells from Joe and his entire entourage.
“Hey babe,” Joe said, pulling Aisling into a hug and pressing a soft kiss to her cheek.
“Hi Joe,” she smiled, as the rest of the group pushed past the pair.
Joe and Aisling were those friends that have an undeniable attraction for each other, but because they’ve been friends forever, they’ve convinced themselves that being anymore than just friends would ruin their amazing friendship. So, they bottle up their feelings for each other, and continue to be just friends as they ignore it.
“You got a haircut,” she giggled, reaching up to ruffle his short hair. Joe grumbled playfully, swatting her hand away.
“Do you like it?” he asked.
“Yeah, it’s hot,” she grinned, “I’m going to have even more trouble keeping girls away from you now.”
“That’s the plan,” Joe smirked, stretching his arms over his head, his muscles flexing. Aisling rolled her eyes, and walked into the kitchen.
“Hey girls!” Aisling said, as Chrystal placed a bowl of chips on the table and walked over to Aisling, with Kerry behind her.
“Thanks for all your help,” Aisling smiled.
“No problem, sweetie,” Kerry said.
“Hey Kerry! Hey Chrystal!” Joe exclaimed, as he walked up to the table and grabbed a handful of chips.
“Hi,” they both said, their eyes widening slightly as Joe smiled at them and then walked away.
“Did you just see that?” Chrystal asked, nudging Kerry with her elbow.
“Wow…” Kerry said quietly, before looking at Chrystal with a big smile on her face.
“Wow what?” Aisling questioned, giving her two friends a confused look.
“Ais… since when has Joe been that hot?” Chrystal asked.
“Psh… Joe has always been hot.”
“But now he’s like super hot… so sexy… that new haircut… he looks amazing. I could just go over there and jump him,” Kerry said, her eyes focused on Joe in the other room.
“Whoa there Kerry! Stay away from Joe,” Aisling said, frowning at her.
“Aw thanks Ais… I knew you always liked me best,” Chrystal grinned, as she began walking towards the direction of the family room, where Joe was entertaining everyone with his usual antics.
“Not so fast, Chrys,” Aisling said, grabbing Chrystal’s wrist, and pulling her back, “You stay away from him too.”
“You can’t keep us from Joe, Aisling,” Kerry said.
“Oh yes I can! He’s mine… now back off…” Aisling growled.
“I thought he was just a friend Ais…” Chrystal said.
“Well… yeah… he is…”
“So then if he has to have a girlfriend… wouldn’t you want it to be one of your best friends?” Kerry asked with a small smile.
“He doesn’t need a girlfriend!” Aisling yelled.
Kerry and Chrystal’s eyes widened again, when they saw Joe appear behind Aisling.
“Who doesn’t need a girlfriend, Ais?” he asked. Aisling’s jaw dropped, and she turned slowly to face.
“Um… no one… we… just girl talk…” she said nervously.
“Fine…” Joe groaned.
“Joe!” Kerry exclaimed, pushing past the other girls, and linking her arm with one of Joe’s muscular arms.
“Hey Kerr,” he said, as she led him away from the girls. She stopped a few yards away from them, and turned to face him.
“I love your new haircut,” she smiled sweetly, reaching up to run her fingers through his hair. Joe smirked, and shivered slightly at the feeling.
“Thanks… you look amazing as always Kerry.”
“Aw… you’re so sweet Joe,” she giggled girlishly, her hand moving to run down his bicep. She slid her hand over his shoulder and around the back of his neck to gently play with the hair on the nape of his neck.
“Kerr… do you-“
“Kerry! We need you in the kitchen!” Chrystal yelled.
“I’ll be there in a minute!” she yelled back, “Now what were you going to say Joe?”
“Do you want-“
“We need you now Kerry!” Aisling yelled.
“Ugh… sorry Joe,” she groaned, “Gotta go. I’ll talk to you later, ok?”
“Ok, later…” Joe said, frowning slightly.
“What?!” Kerry exclaimed angrily, once Joe was back in the family room.
“Cool it with the flirting!” Chrystal said.
“Why? What’s your problem?! Aisling was the one that wants me to stay away from Joe.”
“I like him too! He’s just so… gah… so so sooo sexy… I could-“
“Don’t finish that thought… I don’t want to hear it!” Aisling exclaimed.
“I haven’t seen you try to make a move, Chrys,” Kerry said, crossing her arms.
“Oh whatever… you didn’t even give me a chance…” Chrystal said, blushing slightly.
“You’re too shy to ever make a move!” Kerry yelled, narrowing her eyes at Chrystal.
“Oh shut up… you don’t know anything… watch me.”
“No!” Aisling exclaimed, grabbing Chrystal’s arm again. Chrystal quickly wrenched her arm from Aisling’s grasp and headed over to Joe.
She gently placed her hand on his back, causing Joe to spin around to face her.
“Hi Chrys,” he smiled down at her.
“Hi Joe,” she blushed, her eyes darting away from his.
“You’re so shy Chrystal,” Joe chuckled, “Are you afraid of lil’ ol’ me?”
“Oh Joe… you and I both know that you’re anything but little,” she smirked, running her index finger down the center of his chest.
“Now that’s more like it,” Joe smiled, placing his hand on her hip. Chrystal giggled, and a blush spread across her cheeks again.
“Do you wanna come sit with me and the guys in the other room?” he asked, moving his hand to slide his fingers between hers.
“Yeah I’d love to,” she smiled.
“Ugh! I can’t take this anymore!” Aisling exclaimed, her face formed into a deep frown. She rushed over towards Joe and Chrystal, and roughly brushed Joe with her shoulder as she continued to walk past them.
“Ais!” Joe exclaimed, reaching out to capture her hand in his. He quickly pulled her towards him, pressing Aisling’s body flush against his own.
“What’s wrong beautiful?” he asked, worry present in his eyes.
“Nothing Joe…” Aisling huffed.
“Ais… you know you can tell me anything,” he said, reaching up to tuck some of her hair behind her ear.
“I miss you Joe-Bear!” she exclaimed, wrapping her arms tightly around him.
“Aw, I know! I miss you too Ais. We never get to hangout anymore,” he pouted.
“I know,” Aisling said, as she snuggled further into Joe’s chest, “We only get to hangout on nights like this… and it’s never just the two of us.”
Joe ran his fingers through Aisling’s hair gently, “Do you want to go for a walk? Just you and me?”
“That would be amazing,” Aisling said, lifting her head to smile at Joe. He slid his hand into hers and began leading her towards the front door.
“Joe!” Kerry exclaimed, stopping them, “What did you want to ask me earlier?”
“Oh… uh… it was nothing…”
“Are you sure?” she asked, her hand gripping his bicep gently.
“Yeah, I don’t even remember anymore,” he said, starting to lead Aisling towards the front door again.
“Joe…” Chrystal whined quietly, “I thought we were going to hangout?”
“Maybe later Chrys… I’m sorry,” he said, giving Aisling’s hand a squeeze.
“Pleeeaaassseee…” both Kerry and Chrystal begged, gripping onto Joe’s shirt.
“Ais… would it be ok with you if we all hangout?” Joe asked, releasing Aisling’s hand and wrapping his arms around Chrystal and Kerry’s shoulders.
“Fine…” Aisling sighed, as Joe began leading her two so-called best friends to the family room. Aisling let out a huff and she knew there was only one thing left to do.
“Joe…” she called. He released his hold on the girls, and turned to face her.
“Yea-“ Aisling quickly grabbed his shoulders and pushed him up against the nearest wall. Joe’s eyes widened slightly as she slammed her lips to his. Joe relaxed in her grasp, as he moved his lips with hers. They pulled apart, and Aisling blushed slightly.
“Ais… I thought-“
“I’m tired of pretending there is nothing more than friendship between us,” she smiled.
“But what if-“
“You and I both know that nothing could ever ruin what we have… and this,” she said, before running a series of kisses across his jaw, “can only make things better.”
“Finally…” Joe sighed, staring into her eyes.
Chrystal and Kerry both sighed quietly as the turned away from the happy couple. Chrystal gasped when she found her self face to face (or more like face to chest) with Nick Jonas.
“Oh! Sorry Chrystal!” he said, as Chrystal turned a bright shade of red. Nick had always had the ability to make her blush.
“It’s ok Nick,” she said, staring up at him, “How are you?”
“I’m great,” he smiled, “Are you busy right now?”
“Nope, not at all, why?”
“We’re getting ready to play Pictionary in the other room, and I need a partner,” he said.
“Oh, you guys don’t have enough people to play?” she asked, slightly disappointed that Nick was only asking her to play because they needed one more person.
“Well no… we could have played with groups of three… but I told them that I wanted you to play… so now we’re playing in pairs.”
“I’d love to be your partner, Nick,” Chrystal smiled brightly.
“Great, let’s go,” he smiled, sliding his fingers between Chrystal’s, and leading her into the family room.
“So did I hear you say something about liking Joe?” Nick asked, as they sat down on the couch next to each other.
“Oh… um… your brother is attractive… there is no doubt about that… but I’ve always had my eyes on someone else,” she said, smiling shyly at him.
“Oh really?” he smirked, his hand sliding behind her to rest on the small of her back.
“Yes really,” she grinned, leaning into his side.
“I’m glad to here it,” he smiled, blushing slightly.
“Man, she moves on fast,” Kerry chuckled from the kitchen, as Aisling finally removed herself from Joe. Joe headed back into the family room, as Aisling walked over to Kerry.
“She’s smart,” Aisling teased.
“Oh whatever…” Kerry sighed, “I’m happy for you Ais.”
“Thanks sweetie... you’ll find someone. Don’t worry, ok?” Aisling said reassuringly.
“And that someone is right here,” said a familiar voice from behind them. Kerry spun around as Aisling smirked and left to join everyone in the other room.
“Hey Greg,” Kerry smiled, as Garbo walked up to her, “Why aren’t you in there with everyone else?”
“Because I wanted to talk to the always beautiful Kerry,” he smiled. Kerry giggled, and slid her hand down his arm slowly.
“I’m not that great…” she said.
“Oh I think so,” Garbo said, placing his hand on her waist, “So what does Joe Jonas have that I don’t?”
“Sexy hair,” Kerry teased, smirking at him.
Garbo stuck his lip out in a pout, “I don’t have sexy hair?”
“I dunno… let me see,” she giggled, reaching up to run her fingers through his hair.
“Well?” he urged.
“Sexy,” she smiled.
“Thanks!” Garbo smiled cheekily, “Now that that’s settled, do you want to go on a walk?”
“I’d love to,” Kerry smiled, grabbing his hand.
Sure Joe Jonas might be great for Aisling… but no matter how sexy his new haircut is… Chrystal and Kerry will always have their favorites.
