hmm..it's your choice. you can take a chance..but yeah, you might not get tickets..im scared about not getting them but you get so much bonus stuff..i say it's worth it =]
I heard its random seating too, which would probably make sense, but honestly, I really am just wanting to get tickets now, I really couldn't care less where. (Unless they are way too far back for my liking.)
I wouldn't worry about it - if you don't join, you just may not get the extremely great seats. But even with fanclub membership, you might not. Its really just the luck of the draw. You just have to be ready to take your chances.
