this is focusing on niki and joe. they were mentioned in the first my girl, and the stories will tie together in some parts, so it wont be like a totally different story with the same title. here you go.. the first bit is kind of slow i guess. i havnt reread and proofed it, im in the process of trying to go through all my fave fics, copy and paste them into word, and then print them out to reread and nominate for ff awards haha. so hopefully there arent too many booboos.
Chapter One;;
“Drop the picture and let’s go Joe” Kevin called out as he walked through the front door.
Joe trailed behind, brushing his fingers across a photograph he held tightly in his left hand. His heart ached a little before he placed each hand on the sides and ripped it into two. From there he continued, tearing it into a few more pieces and dropping it on the hardwood floor. Picking his head up he took a final glance around the house and let out a deep sigh.
“Later” he mumbled to himself as he followed his family and got into the car.
“Lighten up dude, we are going to have a relaxing time” Nick spoke, punching Joe in the arm.
He didn’t respond, instead crawled into the back seat, buckling himself in and thudding his forehead against the window. The car slowly backed out of the driveway, into the street, and continued forward for what felt like days but was just hours.
The Jonas Family knew that living life where they were was going to be a roller coaster ride. Fans had become professional stalkers, knowing which boy was going where before the boys themselves had even decided. The last thing they wanted on a much-needed vacation was the ringing of a doorbell or screaming sounds from fans that were waiting outside their home. Instead, Mr. Jonas knew a long time family friend who was settled quietly in a small town. Hearing all the wonderful talk about the friendly people and quiet sound of the summer breeze catching in the trees, it had taken him all of point two seconds to decide where they were going.
Tuning out the sounds of chatter, Joe continued to drum his fingers to the beat that gave him peace, blaring through his iPod headphones.
They come and go…
But they don’t know…
He closed his eyes to fight back the pain as he skipped to the next song. When he helped write that song with his brothers, he had been head over heels in love with one girl. The girl he put his heart into and the girl who ultimately broke it into millions of pieces. Adri.
She was long gone now, and there was no fighting it. He wasn’t going to get her back, and deep down he knew that he wanted something more. Maybe it was just puppy love. Maybe it wasn’t love at all. He opened his eyes, praying that it had all been a dream. His view got a glimpse of the endless fields and he mumbled to himself.
“Seriously…”
“Seriously what?” he heard Kevin chime in.
“Nothing.” He groaned, shutting his iPod off. “Are we almost there?”
“Soon Joseph” Mrs. Jonas called back to him from the front seat.
“Joe, you really need to lighten up.” Kevin consoled to him again.
“Shut up Kev” he whined back, turning his attention back to the moving scenery from the window.
“No really Joe. Listen, you know you are the king of hearts. So be the King of Hearts. We are going to this new town for the summer, enjoy yourself. Relax, maybe even flirt with a few girls.” He pleaded, hoping to awake his lifeless brother.
“No thanks man” he replied, fumbling to turn his iPod back on and ignore his brothers words.
“I bet you can’t do it” he heard Kevin challenge through his music.
“What was that?” he snapped back.
“I said, I bet you can’t. You don’t have what it takes to flirt with all the girls anymore. Whatever” he stated matter-of-factly.
“Bet I do” he shouted back before Kevin threw his hands up to his defense.
“Whoa, calm down” he laughed before Mr. Jonas cut in.
“We’re here guys!” he exclaimed, as he put the car into park.
The family tumbled out of the car and walked to the back to begin retrieving bags. Joe took a deep breath, opened his door and stepped out. Shaking out his body and stretching his arms above his head he released a deep sigh as he whispered into the wind.
“I am the king of hearts” he crossed his arms on his chest, “and I can win over all the girls.”
