Chapter 1
Rebecca had driven Tina home after the show to help her pack as quickly as possible. Tina knew she didn`t need much, she wasn`t a materialistic girl. She figured whatever she forgot she could just buy.
“I`m going to miss you a lot, you know that right?” Rebecca said to her trying to start a conversation without crying again.
“I know, I`ll be sure to call you almost everyday, and you`ll have to come visit us on tour” she told her as she walked over to give her a hug.
[[buzz buzz]]
Tina walked over to see her cell phone flashing. It was very late and she knew that Joe was just going to call her when he got to her house. Wondering who it could be, she flipped it open and read
Text from Drake.
She opened the message and glanced over to Rebecca standing at the end of her bed.
Drake: Tina can we tlk?
She walked over to where Rebecca was standing and handed her the cell phone, then went back to packing. A tear fell down her face but she refused to get upset about it, instead she wiped it and said sternly,
“I`m leaving, it will be fine.”
“Hopefully Joe makes it here soon and you can leave immediately”
In my mind i`m goin to Carolina…
Rebecca looked down at the phone in her hand,
“it`s Joe.”
She tossed it to Tina and she quickly flipped it open.
“Hey Joe are you here?”
“Yeah, i`m outside just come down when you are ready... are you okay?” he questioned her when he heard the tone in her voice, did she not want to leave?
“yeah yeah, i`m fine, I just can`t believe i`m actually leaving. I`ll be done in a minute” she responded, telling herself that Joe would never find out about Drake.
She closed the phone and her eyes wandered over to Rebecca.
“This is it” she mumbled softly.
“Yeah, this is it. Just, well, just be careful Tina. Call me if you need anything.”
And with those final words, the two walked downstairs and out the door. They embraced in one last hug as Rebecca began to cry. She watched her walk to the tour bus and waved goodbye to the only best friend that she`s ever had. Tina blew her a kiss and chuckled. She told her that she would call her all the time. The tour bus doors closed and she was gone.
